You will not believe what I received

Last week, during the Plague, I had to go out and mail packages. When I got back, there was a giant box in my driveway, promising tortilla chips.

I brought it in and opened it, and was completely floored. [livejournal.com profile] cactus_wren is the sweetest thing alive--she sent me a giant stuffed squid! I am totally serious, yo. I'm not even disappointed by the lack of tortilla chips.

Talk about great timing. I was so sick and miserable and completely under the weather, and then, like a ray of lime sunshine, I was sent a lovely prezzie. Wren has outdone herself--this is the kewlest squid ever. Srsly. I can't believe the eyes.

And you know what? There is something so tremendously touching about taking the time to make something for someone. Even if the result isn't a five foot long lime squid, it's just--wow. Someone took time out of their lives to create, to give you something, and that is so sweet and wonderful that it makes me feel like I'm walking on clouds. Really, I am so very touched. I feel all gooey inside!

Here is the squid in question (lounging next to my cuttlefish blanket from [livejournal.com profile] florence_craye):

Full length squid

He even has hunter tentacles!!!

What I love the most are the big squiddy eyes. OMG. Seriously!!!!!! They are the coolest thing ever, and Wren said that they weren't part of the original pattern. SQUID EYES ROCK. omgomg.
