Wow.

I have just been struck with this amazing desire to read a Grindelwald/Voldemort showdown, where Grindelwald ends up in the dirt, looking up, and just stares at V in awe and shock, realizing he's out of a job.

*stares*

Oh my god, yes! You must! Go! Write!

*nods adamantly*

Aww, I don't want to write it, I want to read it!

*bats eyelashes* Pretty please?

[identity profile] aerynstales.livejournal.com 2005-06-05 02:27 am (UTC)(link)
Oh...*Pouts*

Well, I ain't got the time at the mo! :D

But...you should...yup. Shall await with baited breath! :D

It would be something, wouldn't it? *thinks*

But... but... it was Dumbledore that defeated Grindelwald.

A girl can dream, can't she? *sly smile*

It would have to be AU as hell...I think that Grindelwald died either just before or just after Tom was born anyway.

But thanks, Mister-I'll-just-burst-your-bubble-quite-easily-ha. *giggles* ;)

It's just a special talent I have. *grin*

Actually, Grindelwald was defeated in 1945... the year Tom Riddle finished Hogwarts. *Dramatic music*

Riddle totally killed him and Dumbledore took credit for it, yo. Or maybe they worked together. Hmmm...

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-06-05 03:52 am (UTC)(link)
Argh! You both are making me doubt my canon abilities. *giggles*

Hey, welcome to the flist! I forgot to stop on one of your entries and say "hi". I found you through...er...now I can't remember. The picture meme? Yeah, that was it.

Tonight is not one of my more cohesive evenings, apparently.

Don't worry too much, I only knew that because I cheated and checked the Lexicon timeline.

Glad to be here! I figured it was probably the picture meme, but was too busy being all 'ooh, new people for the flist' because I am odd like that.

I have evenings (well, days. Okay, weeks) like that all the time, I swear.

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-06-05 04:16 am (UTC)(link)
Did you get a big influx from the picture meme?

LJ is such a weird thing. I used to friend rather indiscriminately. Now I always go back at least twenty entries to see what kind of person they are, and I always think, my flist is outta control, stop adding people, but I just can't help it when they're interesting.

You're in NZ, right? I think I'm going to take a vacation there next year.

Not that big, but I haven't gotten around to adding a bunch of people from my side yet.

It is, isn't it? I can see why that system would make sense. And time flies: I didn't think I had posted 20 entries, but indeed I have.
You're a friendaholic! The first step is admitting you have a problem.

Yep. You should, it's a very good place to take vacations. (This comment sponsored by the NZ Tourism Board).

Well, I do go through periodically and defriend. If they aren't commenting, and I'm not commenting, well, then, what's it all for? Social interaction is the reason I got a LJ, after all.

I don't know how people like [livejournal.com profile] iibnf do it...she has 400 people on her flist, and reads pretty much all of it, I think. Just astonishing.

After midnight here...I'm off to bed. Lovely commenting with you.

I'd like to read that, too. I'm too busy to write it, and probably don't have the talent anyway. Although I admit I do far better with violence than any sort of emotional confrontation (except maybe anger.)

The spell research alone would be vast. Much magical butt-kicking. And I could so see Dumbledore taking credit, although I see more Voldemort conning Dumbledore into taking it so that Voldemort will be off the world's radar and he'll have some time to get himself together.

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-06-05 06:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, the spell research is the very reason I would hesitate to write it. Though I could, perhaps, just show the ending bit, and then I wouldn't have to write any of the magic dueling...
