Hmmm...finally got my LJ MindMap.
It purports to "[visualize] interrelationships within the LiveJournal community". After examining it, I think it's a visual interpretation of LJ cliques. Not sure, though.

A-ha! No, I get it now! It's just a map. Seriously. It plots where everybody actually lives physically. No, wait, it does list their physical location, but...okay, I admit, I have absolutely no idea what the hell this is. deepforestowl is listed towards the edge in teeny print, and she's one of the people I communicate with most frequently, while khames, with whom I have traded maybe three comments, is huge print and near the center.
Oh well. It was fun while it lasted. Or maybe it was just confusing.
ETA:gillieweed and scatteredlogic have figured it out...it's a visual LJ clique representation. It compares the flists of everyone on your flist, and those with the most people in common show up close to the center. Now it makes more sense!
