Return of the Elementary School Crush

So I'm responding to comments on my earlier post about the maintenance guy turning out to be the guy I wanted to marry in elementary school, and while I'm typing something about him, there's a knock at the door, and it's him!

I'm certain this is the basis of a Harlequin romance somewhere. hee!

Anyway, we yakked and yakked, and he remembered SO much stuff about me that I was actually embarrassed, because I don't remember much about him (he was very, very quiet). I just remember always wanting to hang around with him. He remembered playing the piano with me, and listening to the Beatles, and that I loved Grover.

He was rather excitedly telling me that he had been telling his girlfriend about me, as well, which cracked me up. I'm sure she was underwhelmed. *snerk*

ROFL
So, what? Did he tell you he forgot his notebook in your apartment or something?

hee! No, he wanted to finish the job...the trim split, and he wanted to glue it back together and recaulk and paint. Very thorough!

I'm cracking up. Sounds like basis for a romance novel or at least a silly short story.

It was nice to talk about things in the past, though. He really is a sweetheart.

Oooh, sounds like it's meant to be... Keep us updated ;)

haha! Naw, he's too short, and he has a girlfriend. Not interested, except perhaps for some more conversation. ;)

LOL. I want purple prose and cliches, please.

His hair, pulled into a thick black ponytail, glistened in the wan light. As he tenderly applied the creamy white caulk, she found herself caught in wonderment, thinking longingly of what might have been...

*SNORTS* Bwahaha. Sounds like the books my mother reads.

Wow. Don't you love when stuff like that happens? It certainly does sound like the beginning of a bad romance novel...

How old were you when you had a crush on him?

He told me that we were friends from 1st grade to 5th, which sounds exactly right. I skipped 4th grade, and that's when we were sundered, though we still did talk a little. But then I left for junior high school...alas! *laughs*
