At work today...

I was listening to episode 15 of [livejournal.com profile] slashcast, and I must tell you, the interview with [livejournal.com profile] pir8fancier is a standout. (I do like some aspects of slashcast, however, I have a hellish time listening to it during some segments; the hearing damage I have makes it painful at times, especially when one person's audio is much louder than the rest of the group's, and one person's audio is much softer than the rest of the group's...I can't hear the low-level person, and the other person's voice is unpleasantly loud. Also, during one entire segment it was only playing out of one side of my headphones. In the car, I can deal with that, but with headphones it's a bit uncomfortable, so I had to skip that.) The slashcast interviewer, [livejournal.com profile] emmagrant01, is excellent. The interviews are the best part of slashcast, IMHO, with terrific questions and great subjects. Anyway, they went into a discussion of backstory and how not to overwhelm readers with detail in the beginning, especially in fanfiction. I even went back and listened to parts of it twice. It was extremely inspiring.

Also, [livejournal.com profile] snapecast just gets better and better. Not only does it have terrific humorous bits, but it covers so many fascinating topics. I urge all fans of Snape to listen to Snapecast's fantastic podcasts...they're really well-produced, the sound levels are much easier to deal with (for me, at least), and [livejournal.com profile] chaeche and her crew really put together an excellent show. Just my two cents.

It was one of the most fascinating interviews I've listened to. And it directly helped me with a piece I'm writing right now, so I appreciate it tremendously. Thank you so much for your fantastic insights into the writing/reading process!
