I found a possible beta reader on the Sycophant Hex forums who seemed quite literate, concise, and detailed. I was totally excited. Unfortunately she has since posted a comment saying she's now unavailable.

*sigh*

In other news, Chapter 58 is still undergoing some bizarre hit rate. The other chapters are still around one hundred to two hundred hits.

Chapter 58 now has five hundred and nineteen hits. Two hundred hits in the last month. I am bewildered. There must be a link to it somewhere. I hope that the people clicking on it realize that it is chapter 58. Or perhaps someone is using it as a shortcut to get into Occlumency.

That's a bummer about the beta reader. I'm thinking of trying to get one too - was browsing through the list at SH the other day. The thing is, I just don't know how to select one! I did have one for a very brief period but it didn't work out. I suppose I'll just have to take the plunge and contact some of the ones on the list.

BTW, am about to post my squid poem in my LJ so will link to the community and hopefully generate a bit of interest.

I really don't trust the beta readers whose adverts sound like this:

so I was excited to find this advert, as it was incredibly well-written and just what I was looking for. I even responded to it very quickly after she posted it.

It could be that 519 people checked back to see if they've read that chapter yet. Of course, if they left a review, they could just check that. Reviewing, it's not just for breakfast anymore.
