I want to buy my Tori tickets.
The blasted Tori ticket site is telling me there aren't any.
I was e-mailed, you see, by the Tori mailing list people that there would be a special pre-sale for mailing list people. It would open at 1 pm "local time".
Okay, I was there at 1:01. It keeps telling me that they're out. At first the tickets were listed as RSVD and $37.50; now they're reserved and $42.50. Very crazy. I don't think they could have sold out in a minute, though. Either they meant California 1 pm and I'm a few hours late or there is some misunderstanding.
But I can't buy tickets from ticketmaster until Saturday, and I might not have time on Saturday, I'll be working in WI. Boo-hoo.
Anyway...
Since I worked at a department/grocery store years ago, I have always watched to see what people buy, especially if it is only a few items, and then I wonder if anyone else has ever purchased that exact combination, especially if it's rather bizarre. It all started because I was waiting to have my check cashed and the guy in front of me was buying duct tape and strawberries.
So my weird sale recently? I bought a neon "Open" sign, a space heater, and a twenty-five pound bag of rice.
At Best Buy yesterday I purchased "Robin Hood: PoT", "Beekeeper" by Tori Amos, and "Thirteenth Step" by perfect circle.
Mainstream, eclectic, and angsty. That's me. *giggles*
I'd love to hear about any other odd groups of items purchased in a single sale by you. Always a source of amusement for me.

I will be watching the Sheriff today, as a matter of fact, and drooling copiously.

And imagine accidentally putting an eggplant in the DVD player instead of Mulan.

When I go CD shopping, I quite often come out of the store with some loud rock and some jazz cds.

I bought Drano and Margarita mix together, once. And I've bought condoms, motor oil, and a box of thumbtacks all at once, too. Actually, I can find something weird about most combinations of stuff I buy.

We just had a new Super
HadesWalmart open right nearby a couple of weeks ago. I hadn't had a chance to scope the place out (not that I really wanted to but, you know, we have to look at car crashes and train wrecks too, don't we?) so I decided on Saturday to take my little list with me and see how much of it I could get accomplished under one roof.I did manage various grocery items including fresh meat and baked goods which were rung up along with a pair of gym shorts and an air filter for the lawnmower.
(Embarrassing admission: their bakery smells wonderful like a real bakery not the back of a supermarket AND they sell a variety of dried chiles by weight! I shall be returning for those if for nothing else.)

Ha! Buns and shorts.
I love good grocery stores. We have this terrific one that is about forty-five minutes away, but completely worth it. They have heirloom tomatoes, a fabulous array of mushrooms, an incredible dessert counter, a separate Godiva counter, a huge cheese section, a bakery that makes the absolute best ciabatta bread ever (not the awful American version but the Italian roll style ciabatta), and they carry lovely butters, though they've stopped carrying goat's milk butter, which makes me sad.
Are you ever on AIM, by the way? I added you and haven't seen you on yet.

*Not really, I have AIM but rarely use it. I use Yahoo IM more often.

Last week I bought jewel tone colored little mice cat toys, a clear shower curtain liner, two kinds of mustard, dental floss, and motor oil. Such a "student in her first apartment" shopping trip.

Love your last week shopping trip! Which kind of mustard did the cat end up preferring with the cat toys? ;)

And apparently the green mice don't taste as good as the fuschia, orange, or teal ones.
