What happened to the Archive at the End of the Universe? I've been trying to pull up my account so I can start transferring stuff to AO3, and I keep getting a 500 error, that something's wrong with their server.

Maybe I just answered my question, but still, will it be coming back? I had stuff there that I didn't have anywhere else, boo hoo.

I saw a post by gatewaygirl on this topic recently (she was wondering where it had gone) and someone responded that it was gone for good, and that this had been posted all over a lot of IJ comms, giving advance warning. I never saw any announcements, though, although I'm almost exclusively on LJ these days.

Anyway, it is gone. I liked it, so that's very sad (esp. for the fic that was there). I'd advise AO3, yes. It has the financial and governance structures that should ensure that it will be around for many years to come.

O.o This is the first I've heard about it too... Then again, I am almost exclusively back on LJ (after leaving HP fandom). They thought everyone who posted things on the Archive were lurking in IJ HP comms and would get the news?

Would have been nice to be able to save some of the reviews. Ah well.

I remember hearing they were going to go down before Christmas. Saved a few stories I liked that weren't anywhere else. Wasn't maeglin_yedi one of the mods? Maybe they have the backup files?

Hmm. If they do have backup files, that could be cool. But then again, I don't want to be a pain. I wish I had realized this earlier, lol!
