grah, my eyes

I got in to see the optometrist today. He dilated my eyes, so I'm basically sitting here in the office with the shades drawn and I'm leaning back nearly three feet away trying to type this.

Good news: my eyes are healthy.

Bad news: He has no idea how to fix this issue. He thinks it might be my closeup vision, because I'm getting to "that age." But because he had dilated my eyes, he couldn't administer the close-up vision tests, so now I have to go back on Thursday before I head out of town to visit my parents.

I had a lot to do this afternoon, and it all depends on being able to see it. Fixing photos in PS, getting listings ready, drawing some designs for a new thing I'm doing, crafting--can't really do any of it.

And I still have a headache.

bah. I think I'm just going to take a break and watch something on TV (from a good distance away, lol). It'll make me crazy to not do something at the same time I'm watching it, but I don't have much of a choice.

I got to that age and sped right past it. I'm at the stage where I have two pairs of glasses, one for walking around and driving and another for closeup work and computer stuff.

Pain in the ass...

Honestly, I don't think that is it. There is a double image at any distance, and that's what the issue is. Though I definitely will need bifocals at some point, I know. ;)

That sucks, that sucks, that sucks. I hope he comes up with something! Until then, take a night off and enjoy the pith helmets. :D

I really hope so, too, because life with constant squinting/headaches really sucks.

The pith helmet was lovely! I enjoyed it immensely.

hmmm, I wish he'd been able to find a clue as to the double vision. That is not something that comes with age.

I have been having trouble seeing close up with my lenses, and the Doc thought perhaps I am heading for bifocals, but I have my sunglasses and I see perfectly well at all distances with them, have to bring them in and see if he can match them.

Yeah, I really think he's grasping at straws about the close-up vision issue being related to the double vision.. I think it was because I mentioned that I'm seeing double lines of text on the computer. When I said computer work, he perked up and that's when he made that suggestion.

He was also trying to blame it on the prescription, but then he was stumped as to why only one lens would have double vision and not both. grah. I think I might have to go see my ophthalmologist after all.

I really hope they can figure it out, too. I'm starting to think that I'm crazy!

That's why we make the dilation the last part of the exam. At elast everything's healthy.

Yeah, and now they think it's the baseline curve, so I have my fingers crossed that I will finally have happy glasses. ;)
