LiveJournal thoughts

I have subscribed to a lot of communities here on LJ. Fandom comms, actor comms, writing comms, and LJ comms.

One of the LJ comms is [livejournal.com profile] featureannounce, which mentions improvements to LJ. They only update it every week or so, it isn't spammy at all, and it's interesting.

Today's entry mentions that

Friends whom you have banned from commenting in your journal can now be removed from your friends list via the Edit Friends page.

So any of you who have been friended by trolls can finally get rid of them! Hooray!

I know I was recently friended by one, most likely through my snarky comments on [livejournal.com profile] deleterius, and I will probably take care of that today if I remember to.

Just thought you might like to know.

ETA: If you need something to help you search your journal for words & phrases, try this journal search program. It isn't perfect, but it did bring up things I didn't expect, thought not enough of the things I did expect.

Let me know how you get on with that...does it mean you can remove yourself as one of their friends? Because surely you can remove someone off your own flist at any time?

It doesn't mean removing a troll you've friended, it means removing a troll who has friended you, I believe. Though I haven't checked it out yet. :)

How is that different from banning?

I believe that even if you ban someone, they still show up on your friends of list and they still have you listed as friends...this removes them entirely, I think.

Banning removes them from your friends of list from your point of view, I don't know if the new way removes you from theirs... that could be interesting (and lead to drama!)

And it's all about the drama. ;)
