Part four: Plants.
Part five: Sunsets.
Part six: Tidepools.

Coastline.
Coastline.
This was a beautiful area. You can see the black lava rock pocking through.

This is one of my favorite pics. To the right, out of sight, is a black lava sand beach.

Death-defying dive.
Death-defying dive.
Yes, that is a boy jumping into the water, and yes, he was jumping from that high finger of rock. He was later joined by a boy and another girl.

Blowhole.
Blowhole.
There were a few of these fissures and holes, formed by the waves undercutting the rock.

Blowhole in action.

Has to be seen to be believed. The boom! The power!

Arch.
Arch.
Natural arch formed by wave action. I love this picture. You can see a far off little tidepool/waterfall combo on the right. And that's a tidepool right at my feet.

Water.
Water.
I loooove the water here. My friends were rather intent on taking pics when the water was surging, but my camera takes very light pictures, and it just washes out all of the white foam. The sea, however, was just glorious in color, and I was able to capture that. I'm really glad this came out, because I was actually standing just about in a blowhole to take it, and I had to pray that my timing was okay.

Pebbles.
Pebbles.
Lava rock pebbles, worn smooth by wave action.

How very beautiful!

The colours are great - the green of the leaves, the black stone and the water.

*stares longingly*

It's incredible. There are so many plants that bloom year round in Hawai'i. It's astonishing how much fruit and vegetation there is.

On the sides of the mountains they receive an unbelievable amount of rainfall. Maui contains the second most rainy spot of anywhere in the States.

Isn't it though? The color is phenomenal on that coast.
