Art for the Last Sanguimagus!

The incredible [livejournal.com profile] ac1d6urn has finished a fantastic new piece of artwork for The Last Sanguimagus!

It's so awesome! She really is an incredible artist. It's funny, I imagined the scene in a completely different way, but when I looked at what she had drawn, I was immediately intrigued by how different it was and yet how well it worked! It's fabulous.

It's from chapter 48, from a dream Severus had of the ghosts leaving Hogwarts. He is relatively unfazed by the ghosts leaving, but then he finds that Sarah is walking out the door as well, and he is a little disconcerted by that. It's a changing point for him; he had been hoping to forget about her utterly after their "debt" is settled, but finds he cannot.

I absolutely adore the Bloody Baron in this. Ac1d has done an extraordinary job and transformed the scene into something fascinating and beautiful.

The Last Sanguimagus: Dreaming

Severus dreamed.

The air was thick with ghosts. They were leaving Hogwarts, leaving forever, and he watched, unconcerned. Hogwarts would still be Hogwarts, even without them.

The Bloody Baron nodded as he floated past, and Severus returned the nod solemnly. Ghosts were drifting out the front doors, disappearing, set adrift on the wind. Sarah was there, walking with the ghosts, leaving the castle as well, her face as impassive as it normally was. He wondered why she was joining the ghosts in their odd exile.

The dungeons were empty. Even emptier than during the holidays. Shadows lined the corridors. The hallways seemed to swallow him whole. He was oddly disconcerted and went back up the steps.

Hogwarts was now completely empty.

He checked classrooms, the staffroom, the kitchens, the halls. There was not one living soul left there save himself. Not a single house-elf. Not a single ghost.

He raced back to the Entrance Hall, calling her name, but she was already gone.

That's superb. So atmospheric. Thanks for sharing, I'm going to go and look at her other artwork too.

That is an incredible piece of artwork, even without the accompanying text. Very evocative.

You know, I don't remember that dream at all...

Bad Beta.

I really liked the way she composed it. It's totally different than the scene was in my head...it's better, and more interesting.

And after 150,000+ words, it's hard to remember much...hee!
