Ah, plotlines.
So. Chapter 40 is up now. And chapter 41, though ff.net was not cooperating for most of the day, is at both sites now.
I keep wondering if I should upload my story elsewhere in addition to fa.org and ff.net. I love fa.org a lot, but there are so many different fics there that I wonder if it gets a little lost. And ff.net...well, everyone knows ff.net's story. ;) Still, I am content with both for the most part. But once in a while I wonder if I should try a Severus-only archive. There is one out there...Sycophant Hex, I think it's called...that seems interesting. I guess I just wonder about creating more work for myself, and also I wonder if people will start thinking "That stupid fic is everywhere." Also, most diehard Severus readers will probably have already decided if they want to read it or not. The only audience that would be really new would be those who avoid fa.org and ff.net entirely, and I'm not certain how large that audience is. Have to think about it more.
I started Chapter 42, and then started to freak. One of those moments where you go, "Wait...why on earth would they be doing that?! I'm crazy!" I've only had that moment at one other chapter, where I had to throw out a few paragraphs. Then, of course, I'm second-guessing myself, thinking that maybe I will be able to use it. I just don't know. The best thing to do in this situation is to wait until tomorrow and reread it. Of course, my evil brain will not let go of it in the meantime, so at odd moments I will be driving myself nutters deciding.
I am watching an Airline marathon on A&E. It is brilliant. It is a fabulous show. It's like crack. I could probably watch days and days of it. Nearly every moment of the human condition is on display. Greed, absent-mindedness, love, illness, marriage...I am hooked.
Got through the first organization of my 60 pound lot. (Pounds as in weight.) I am going to try to sell half of it to a friend who owns a store. The rest will have to be put away, which will take hours. Plus I need to purchase more containers, and I'm so damnably fussy about my containers. I have driven to twelve stores in one day looking for a certain specific container. Maybe I should try to find them online. They are perfect, and because I have to constantly access them over and over again, I really can't be satisfied with others. Yes, I'm crazy. Yes, I'm a little obsessive. Oh well.
I wish...I wish that I could make up my mind. Would he, or wouldn't he? Severus is tricksy, damnit.
Found one of the other Muse cds. It is...okay on the first listen. Not like the instant, deep love of Absolution. But I need to give it another chance. Sometimes I'm pretty fickle on the first listen. This cd is from 1999. It might be their first. I would like to get their other cd as well as their live cd. I love Absolution so much.

I got all caught up last night. I, like many fanfic readers, get scared off my OCs. I like yours a lot. She's totally NOT a Mary Sue.
Or course, people are skeptical when you say your character isn't a Mary Sue. So if you have pimped it on the boards let me know and I'll go comment that it is, indeed, a worthy fic and Mary Sue free.

I kind of wish that I had put it on Schnoogle instead of the Dark Arts, as Harry sixth year fics are getting a lot more hits in that section, but since mine is so dark and Snape-centric I felt that it was a better fit on TDA. Maybe the wrong decision, but I wouldn't change it now. Thanks for the offer of commenting!
And thanks so much for the reassurance that she's not a Mary Sue. That's awesome. So far, no one has accused me of Sueage, and I really hope that I can continue in this manner. ;)

I'll be joining your ranks of (semi) regular reviewers. I'm ms_hecubus over there too.

SH is subdivided into sub-archives:
Ashwinder - SS/HG
Occlumency - Snape centric (will include Snape/OFC stories)
Serpensortia - Slash
Wolfsbane - Lupin
Morsmordre - Death Eater stories (I think)
Purebloods - Malfoy family stories
There's also a one for non-specific Potter stories.
and there are a couple of others.
Here's the main url:

Have a look around, uploading is easy - txt. format with html tags is best. It is moderated for authors who are new, after authors post a whole novel length they become "validated" authors and can post freely - though if their standard drops, the validation will be removed.
If your story is up to fiction alley standards, it will be welcome on SH. Please post! The archive is at the building stage and I think a good alternative. My stuff is always on about three archives.
As regards pimping - look at it this way, don't readers deserve to be pointed at good stories? Readers deserve to read quality fiction as opposed to some of the rubbish that is strewn around ffnet and affnet.

I also was a little nervous because at this point it is forty chapters and 60,000+ words...I worry that people will just get overwhelmed looking at the length and not even give it a try. Then again, this is a diehard Snape archive, and it is probably quite logical that more people would try it there than any other archive. Okay, now I'm talking myself into it. ;)
Thanks for the help!

I'd also suggest, if you are looking for readers, joining the Yahoo group, the Potions Master's Muse. You might be there already, excuse if you are.
Specialises in SS/OFC fic, and also has good debate.
