A bit of a chuckle.

I was on a website looking for Snapefic (astonishing, yes, I know). It's one of those freebie websites where there are advertising banners across the top. Normally I never bother looking at them, but today one caught my eye.

Professor Snape Sale
New & used Professor Snape.
Check out the deals now!

I laughed and laughed. (It was for eBay.)

I wonder if they have financing. It's too sad that the new Snapes depreciate so swiftly as soon as you get them out of the lot. I may have to go for a used one instead. A 2001 model, perhaps. A post-defeat of Voldemort one, though, definitely. The earlier ones tend to disappear a lot, claiming they have "important missions", and I don't want to have to chain him to the bed. Too often.

HA! You know you have to wonder if those dungeons are still fully equipped...snicker.

Lucky duck staying home from work you (I'm too lazy to find other thread and respond...heh)...work here is dull and boring. But what else is new? Lunch is almost over...waah..

Oh! And on the Magic 8 Ball...we gave one to Trewlany in Fallen...she bought it on Ebay...

As for new or used Snape...really...any Snape will do...yum!!!

I'd looooove to check out his dungeon equipment. heh.

I do wish that I could have gotten one more day in at work...perhaps I'll go in tomorrow, if the weather holds.

Hee! I can just imagine Sybill on a computer..."Ah, yes, I knew I'd have the winning bid!"

Yes, new or used, Snark reigns supreme. I wonder if they have a buy one, get one free offer...It'd be nice to have a spare in case the first one wears out...

~snorfle~

Ah, thanks for the laugh on an otherwise craptastic morning. My child seems to be possessed by some sort of demon and did you know there is no listing for "Exorcist" in the phone book? Ah well, I'm sure the demon will leave him soon enough. Probably right around the time Buffy comes on at noon. It's one of his favorites and I threaten to not let him watch (because I want to watch as well) he'll straighten right up - until the 2 hours of Buffy is over, that is...but by then it's naptime. :) Yea for nap time!

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 05:39 pm (UTC)(link)
No problem...happy to have been of assistance in the humor department.

Ah yes, naptime...or should we call it...FFIII time? Hee!

I so love Daria btw...I miss that show. I used to watch it quite a bit.

Oh yes, I've gotten the Airship and am now visiting all sorts of deserts, trying to up my player's HP and MP. Gotta be strong and know that magic!

And my favorite ep of Daris was when she went to get her navel pierced. She and Jane were looking at the price list and Daris says: "You've misspelled uvula" and that piercing guy says "That's not uvula."

Ha! Oh, good times. How I wish that would come out on dvd. We have seasons of Knight Rider on dvd but not Daria? WTF?

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Y'know, a lot of the older games have a lot of downtime while you run around and level up. I've noticed that newer games tend to be more balanced about that.

FFI was one of the worst. I spent endless hours killing things. One of the most frustrating parts of the game is that if you assign two characters to attack the same enemy, if the enemy dies after the first character's attack, then the second character will attack empty air and waste a turn. It drove me crazy! I'm certain they've fixed that for the re-release, but still, it meant that you had to mathematically work it all out perfectly for every encounter, and that meant you couldn't read a book and level up (which I've done for some games, like FFVII. When you start playing that one let me know...I have a few tips!).

I loved the whole Trent-Daria thing and I loved that she would have disagreements with Jane...it was such a good show.

The navel piercing bit is great! And yes, it does seem criminal that Hasslehoff is driving around on disc and Daria isn't, though they have released the two movies and they're available on amazon.

Excellent! I had no idea the movies were available on dvd. I just put them in my queue on Netflix. I'm going through the entire 7 Seasons of Buffy right now (as if I haven't watched them 1000 times already) but there's something satisfying just watching them in order at my leisure.

I can't believe FF1 would have the characters attack empty air. What a waste of a turn. I'm so glad that's not the case, although later in the game it can get a bit tricky when you want to use a spell on a certain villain, then he's killed and the spell hits something else and ends up adding HP to their count. That really irritates me so I have my battle mode on "wait" later in the game when things get serious.

The baby is down for his nap now and I'm trying to catch up on LJ. He's been playing Playhouse Disney on here most of the morning while I've done chores, then we did his lessons (I homeschool him - it's just pre-school curriculum, but he's doing great) and then he announced that he was tired. He's such a good kid like that. I never have to fight him to get him into bed. He's always more than ready to tell me when he's tired. Thank God.

I watched the first season of Buffy, and really enjoyed it, but then kind of lost track of it. I did watch most of the last season of Angel, and I loved Spike dearly.

Yes, the elemental magic types that "heal" and "harm" different kinds of beasties can cause problems...

Have you gone to the little island with the vortex yet? Have you done the thing where the vortex creature swallows you all and takes you to a secret place? Man, I loved that.

I have a friend whose kid fights and screams against going to sleep...such a struggle every night! That's wonderful that yours is so agreeable.

I love Spike dearly as well. The Buffy fandom is actually how I ended up on LJ. I didn't know a soul on LJ but used to read [livejournal.com profile] nautibitz fan fiction on her website (she's the Queen of Spike/Buffy fic in my opinion) and there was a link to her LJ there. I used to read her LJ and thought it would be neat to have one just to keep track of Alex's development. Then I started meeting all of the HP crowd and here I am, almost 2 years later.

Alex must have inherited the sleep thing from me and the husband. We are huge nappers and Alex is a 'sleepy' kid also. He sleeps around 10 hours at night and will take a 1 1/2 - 3 hour nap every day (thank God). I nap with him most days, but some days, like today, I love the alone time.

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 11:07 pm (UTC)(link)
and here I am, almost 2 years later.

And I say to that...thank goodness! :)

[identity profile] aramintasnape.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 05:43 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL! If you buy a used one, are there spare parts available? Just in case, you know... And how about accessories?

Sorry, I know that was terrible *slinks off laughing inanely*

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 05:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, an extended service plan would be a requirement, because there's liable to be quite a bit of wear and tear...especially in the first twenty-four hours...hee!

Hmmm...accessories...replacement wands? Oh, that was baad.

[identity profile] aramintasnape.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 07:23 pm (UTC)(link)
No, replacement wands are goooooood, lol! Wear and tear? Definitely...

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
But we'd be tempted to upgrade...and upgrade...and upgrade...

;)

[identity profile] aramintasnape.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 07:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Bwahahahahahaaaaaa!

[identity profile] logospilgrim.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 05:54 pm (UTC)(link)
How about a compact model? ;-)

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Ha! For when you're on the go and you just need a little Snape.

[identity profile] agatha-s.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you know the song "I Need a Little Time" by Beautiful South? I think that I'm going to be singing "I need a little Sna-a-ape" in that tune for the rest of the evening.

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 07:25 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't know the song, but I'm certain I can make up some words to go along with it...heh heh.

[identity profile] kitschicat.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:01 pm (UTC)(link)
LOL...Those ads are wacky. A few weeks ago I saw one for "Used Garlic Sauce" or somesuch. Ewwwww!

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:04 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahahaha!

But "Used Garlic Sauce" is the culinary wave of the future! Everyone's imbibing it. Don't be left out, girl, pick some up today---not only does it make a great saute, it's makes a wonderful combination bubble bath and pesticide...

[identity profile] pen-and-umbra.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Mwah! I wonder, how's the trunk space in the 2001 models?

I slay myself. Someone slap me.

And that chaining to the bed comment just made me go on a happy little tangent that would be hard-pressed (hem hem) to get an R rating.

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I wonder how many free lube jobs are included in the warranty?

Now I'm off to wander in NC-17 land...

[identity profile] pen-and-umbra.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:42 pm (UTC)(link)
There's no such thing as too much lube, so hopefully many and frequent blow jobs are included.

Yeah. Me and my jar of Probe Silk Grisco will be standing in this NC-17 corner here. Sigh.

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I'll be ready to offer him a front-end alignment...

[identity profile] pen-and-umbra.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Must. Not. Make. Fiddling with undercarriage. Puns.

Must. Not. Make. Auger-headed wrench. Puns.

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 07:05 pm (UTC)(link)
I must inspect his chassis for...unusual wear and tear patterns.

And his ball bearings must be tested.

[identity profile] mysduende.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:13 pm (UTC)(link)
If you sleep with him does that count as used?

Reminds me.. aside from the two action figures (one on my computer and one still in his box) I also have ornament!Snape garroted from the rear view mirror of my car. Do you think that's abusive? ;)

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I think it's excessive. Which is wonderful, because, to be honest, I don't think there's such a thing as too much Snape.

Though I think he'd have words about being hung from your mirror. Er...well...perhaps not. Maybe he just wants to be hung.

*slaps herself silly, Dobby-style*

[identity profile] pen-and-umbra.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:37 pm (UTC)(link)
Maybe he just wants to be hung.

Not just that, but well-hung.

Oh lord. *groans* My daily allowance of bad puns is long gone by now.

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Great minds think alike... ;)

Oh, love the icon! Rawr!

[identity profile] zoepaleologa.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
I don't want to have to chain him to the bed. Too often.

Only when it's fun...

[identity profile] pen-and-umbra.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:26 pm (UTC)(link)
When would it not be fun?

Mmmmsnapebondageyum

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Hahaha! I missed you.

[identity profile] zoepaleologa.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Welllllllll I never said it would not be fun...

Just not to do it when it wasn't...

[identity profile] pen-and-umbra.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 06:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah ha! You sneaky thing, you. ;)

[identity profile] ms-hecubus.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 10:39 pm (UTC)(link)
I saw one of those ads for Pee-Wee during a websearch, but it didn't occur to me that there would be Snapes too! I gotta buy a bigger house.

[identity profile] valis2.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm...do you think they'll cohabitat peacefully? You may have to get a very large house.

[identity profile] ms-hecubus.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 10:56 pm (UTC)(link)
True. Those are very different personalities. Perhaps I'll build a playhouse in the backyard to house Pee-Wee.

[identity profile] privatemaladict.livejournal.com 2005-01-19 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)

Oh God, that was hilarious.
