I was on a website looking for Snapefic (astonishing, yes, I know). It's one of those freebie websites where there are advertising banners across the top. Normally I never bother looking at them, but today one caught my eye.

Professor Snape Sale
New & used Professor Snape.
Check out the deals now!

I laughed and laughed. (It was for eBay.)

I wonder if they have financing. It's too sad that the new Snapes depreciate so swiftly as soon as you get them out of the lot. I may have to go for a used one instead. A 2001 model, perhaps. A post-defeat of Voldemort one, though, definitely. The earlier ones tend to disappear a lot, claiming they have "important missions", and I don't want to have to chain him to the bed. Too often.

Y'know, a lot of the older games have a lot of downtime while you run around and level up. I've noticed that newer games tend to be more balanced about that.

FFI was one of the worst. I spent endless hours killing things. One of the most frustrating parts of the game is that if you assign two characters to attack the same enemy, if the enemy dies after the first character's attack, then the second character will attack empty air and waste a turn. It drove me crazy! I'm certain they've fixed that for the re-release, but still, it meant that you had to mathematically work it all out perfectly for every encounter, and that meant you couldn't read a book and level up (which I've done for some games, like FFVII. When you start playing that one let me know...I have a few tips!).

I loved the whole Trent-Daria thing and I loved that she would have disagreements with Jane...it was such a good show.

The navel piercing bit is great! And yes, it does seem criminal that Hasslehoff is driving around on disc and Daria isn't, though they have released the two movies and they're available on amazon.

Excellent! I had no idea the movies were available on dvd. I just put them in my queue on Netflix. I'm going through the entire 7 Seasons of Buffy right now (as if I haven't watched them 1000 times already) but there's something satisfying just watching them in order at my leisure.

I can't believe FF1 would have the characters attack empty air. What a waste of a turn. I'm so glad that's not the case, although later in the game it can get a bit tricky when you want to use a spell on a certain villain, then he's killed and the spell hits something else and ends up adding HP to their count. That really irritates me so I have my battle mode on "wait" later in the game when things get serious.

The baby is down for his nap now and I'm trying to catch up on LJ. He's been playing Playhouse Disney on here most of the morning while I've done chores, then we did his lessons (I homeschool him - it's just pre-school curriculum, but he's doing great) and then he announced that he was tired. He's such a good kid like that. I never have to fight him to get him into bed. He's always more than ready to tell me when he's tired. Thank God.

I watched the first season of Buffy, and really enjoyed it, but then kind of lost track of it. I did watch most of the last season of Angel, and I loved Spike dearly.

Yes, the elemental magic types that "heal" and "harm" different kinds of beasties can cause problems...

Have you gone to the little island with the vortex yet? Have you done the thing where the vortex creature swallows you all and takes you to a secret place? Man, I loved that.

I have a friend whose kid fights and screams against going to sleep...such a struggle every night! That's wonderful that yours is so agreeable.

I love Spike dearly as well. The Buffy fandom is actually how I ended up on LJ. I didn't know a soul on LJ but used to read [livejournal.com profile] nautibitz fan fiction on her website (she's the Queen of Spike/Buffy fic in my opinion) and there was a link to her LJ there. I used to read her LJ and thought it would be neat to have one just to keep track of Alex's development. Then I started meeting all of the HP crowd and here I am, almost 2 years later.

Alex must have inherited the sleep thing from me and the husband. We are huge nappers and Alex is a 'sleepy' kid also. He sleeps around 10 hours at night and will take a 1 1/2 - 3 hour nap every day (thank God). I nap with him most days, but some days, like today, I love the alone time.
