And why can't I take advantage of it all year long?

I've gone and tagged all of my old entries. All two and a half years' worth. There are tags for dreams, and hp thoughts, and Severus, and even floating cats.

I'm not certain if anyone else even uses tags to poke around other peoples' journals, but I realized that it's great for me, because I am insane and like to have waaaay too many links in my entries, and this makes it a lot easier to find old entries.

I have been working on burning pics to CDs for people.

I have been listing eBay items like a maniac.

I have been cleaning.

I have been sorting merchandise, the kind of merchandise that sits in a box because I really don't want to sort it at all, and winds up accumulating too much over the last year, and then I really don't want to sort it at all. Yeah, that stuff. I'm two-thirds done with it.

I have been writing. Not only have I finished the squid trilogy, but I also wrote two ficlets, one about Snape, one about Lupin that made me totally squee, because I think I actually managed to capture what I wanted to capture, and cross the line of poetry/prose.

I am taking steps toward writing my snupin santa fic. I am so totally charged about writing it. I'm in the ambitious stage right now, but I have confidence that, even when pared down to the actual doable stage, I'll still be charged.

I'm delighted to be so motivated. I only wish it would last longer when it hits. Heh.

Well, I just clicked on your "floating cats" tag. :) I had almost forgotten about them.

The sun's in Virgo. I get tremendously organizy this time of year, and it always hits by surprise - usually when I'm standing in a checkout with a cart full of plastic boxes and lids :)

ha! Yeah, totally. I am going to OfficeMax in another couple hours, and I'm a little worried that I may end up purchasing their entire office organization aisle. heh.

Well, I enjoyed them as earlier I got to catch up with your dream list. Tags are awesome... I wish I would use them! ;)

I spent waaay too much time going through every single entry and deciding whether or not it needed a tag, and then tagging them. It was kind of interesting, though to see the journal develop. I deleted some old, really boring entries (like memes), and laughed at a couple that I had forgotten. It was kind of fun to skim the whole LJ, though I am glad the tagging is all done now.

I love tags, and I use them myself. It's a nice glimpse at other people's interests as well.

And it's just great to hear that you are so motivated. *throws confetti*

Do you use tags when you encounter someone else's journal, though?

I use them for my own, but I must admit, I've never clicked on them in another's journal, except once or twice for fic.

Yes, I do that sometimes, when I have lots of idle time. I would check the interesting tags to decide whether I want to friend a person. But it only makes sense if people use the tags in a disciplined manner, because otherwise the outcome is too limited and it's easier just to browse the journal as a whole.

So I fear in the end the tags simply tell something about how much structure a person is willing to let into their recreational time. :-)

Isn't that great when you get a rush like that?

They're so fickle! I never know when I'm going to have one, heh. I wish I did, because then I could schedule things to take advantage of it!
