General wah

I am catching up on the LJ flist, and I'm getting sadder and sadder.

I knew already that the HP fandom would be endangered by the end of the series, but now it's fragmented as well, and I'm really having trouble wrapping my head around having multiple journals. I'm a control freak, as you all know, and I hate the idea of cross-posting, but I also hate the idea of not cross-posting, and I hate the idea of having one main journal, and I hate the idea of having journal-specific entries, and I just feel like I'm watching my internet journaling experience take a nose dive.

Also, I find the idea that HP's parent corporations are going to put the smackdown on slash very chilling. (I can't remember where I read the entry now, damnit.)

*glooms about*

ETA: Oh, and this bit about everyone defriending LJ people so they don't have to read multiple entries? Understandable, but... *glooms even more*

Have volunteered to come into work tomorrow (I had not scheduled myself until next week, Wednesday). Apparently one of the employees is buried in paper and needs help to claw her way out. I tried making a dent on my way out of town, but it wasn't enough, and no one else has had enough time to help tunnel through the piles.

So I'm going in. Wish me luck. I had hoped to give myself a nice long weekend home to recover from everything (and clean!), but that's okay. Besides, it looks like I'm going to someone's great-uncle's birthday party on Sunday, maybe Renfest on Saturday, etc., and I might as well give up on the idea of Lady Valis, Victorian Woman of Rather Exquisite Loafing.

Have just received spam from "ebay" asking, Do you know what's coming tomorrow?

As a matter of fact, I do. It involves stacks of paper. Keyboards. And maybe even a few swear words.
