The perils of being your own boss
Jun. 19th, 2008 11:23 amToday's decision: do I go to the bottom feeder show or not?
There is a group who hosts a discount art fair on certain Thursdays from 4-9pm during summer. I have signed up for three of them. I've been doing them for years, and on a good night I can take in about $350-400. They're only barely worth it, honestly, but I do like to go, because they're nice filler shows, they're late in the day, and they're not unpleasant.
However, the forecast for this evening shows a thunderstorm rolling in from 7-8pm. The one time I did the show and it started raining at 6 or so it scared off all the customers and I ended up taking in $100.
Given that this show is a two hour drive from my house (round trip gas: $60), I'm really thinking of skipping it. Then again, the forecast could be wrong.
If I stay home, I could make it a very productive situation by setting up my camera rig and taking photos for Etsy--I would really like to list some things on there, and soon. Still, this show could mean cash now, in my pocket. Hmm.
I hate making decisions. I'm so much better at criticizing the decisions of others instead.
ETA: I am watching the storm approach on Accuweather. Yeah, I'm not going. I think I'll watch a little LotR while I snap some photos for Etsy.
EETA: Argh! The mailman set off the dogs. Grr.
