I feel even more crappy than I thought. I am not going to bother with the post office, only the doctor's office and, hopefully, Kroger's for a prescription.
I have negative money right now. I could kill my webhosting service; instead of sending me any sort of invoice whatsoever, they tried to automatically charge my debit card, twice, so I'm certain I'm now facing $40 in fees. All it would have taken is a quick reminder, like what eBay does, that they are going to withdraw the money within a month, week, whatever. So I get these stupid newsletters every single month from them, written in this wry, ironic hey-we're-so-kewl-and-funny-and-hip tone, and then they can't even bother to send me a quick notice about the account.
Plus, the way they worded the email was absolutely insane. It took three tries (well, I am sick, that's true) for me to understand what was going on. I'm serious. It was "Your account is past due, you owe $382.60 (last payment received blah blah). If you go now to blabhlabhl.billing and cancel you won't owe the money. But please don't!" (I am not making this up.) "PS: we tried charging it twice and it was declined." And this was my first email from them about the situation. Lovely, huh? It wasn't very clear at all, and I had to really struggle to figure it out.
My tax guy called, and now I'm scared to death about what I'll have to pay in taxes this year. It's going to be horrible, I just know it.
I really hate my finances at the beginning of the year. I have no money coming in, and yet I have to pay for everything for the rest of the year.
Let's not even talk about the two months of total expenditure, coming up soon. *cries*
Woe!

I can sympathize. January seems to be the month when too many shows decide to send out their applications - shows where you need to return the apps ASAP (with check enclosed, of course) lest you lose your chance to get into the show because they have too few spaces and too many eager applicants. Plus January is when the business insurance policy is renewed (attach another check). Plus I have to buy supplies so I can start creating stock for my spring shows. Plus...
And the general public thinks that we arts-n-crafts merchants have a wondrous, carefree life. After all, we get to spend our weekdays merrily crafting away and then on the weekends we get to spend a few pleasant hours selling our wares to our adoring public and raking in the dough, don't we? (Said with tongue-so-firmly-in-cheek that I think I bit myself.) If only our 'adoring' public knew the reality...
Hang in there, lady.

Date: 2007-03-21 01:47 am (UTC)Also, I changed my leaving date a bit. It means I'll be absolutely overwhelmed with work on Thursday, but it also gives me another day to rest, which is good. :)
Thank you so much for your kind concern! It's really appreciated. *hugs*
PS: Your entry about charities the other day was brilliant. I'm so happy that you made such a positive post about helping people. :)

Date: 2007-03-21 04:07 am (UTC)I am completely impressed with the way you are running your own business and organizing these trips, you know. Not everybody could do that. It takes a lot of patience and skill...
I hope you will get plenty of rest before setting out, though. *hugs*
Thank you for your kind words about that entry. I got so excited about microfinance and online donating (my geekiness is infinite ;-)) that I had to post.
