The thing about other people's icons

Sometimes, when I'm wandering about in different comms, I'll see a non-HP related icon.

I'm sorry, but I have to admit this.

I just don't understand icons from other fandoms.

I stare and stare.

Is that a mole? with blue fur? and a katana? on a tricycle? eating a sugared doughnut? angsting about being spurned by a particularly heartless electric toaster?

It was a blurry picture of a guy from some sort of TV show. Not only did I not recognize the guy, I couldn't understand why he was making some sort of bizarre sounds, according to the text on said icon ("oop oop" or something similar). It was quite bewildering!

Ooh, Snupin meetup--I'm putting it on my schedule! Admittedly, my schedule is quite blank at the moment, but still.

I'm leaving tomorrow morning---picking up Julian at the airport around 3:45pm. And I think I have the feast option, though I should check my sheet...hold on here a second...yep, I'm sorry to say, I have signed up for the feasts.

And you won't have a chance to follow me around, because I'll be following you, mwa hahaha!!!

The TV show icons are definitely a challenge. I sometimes e-mail the LJer to ask what the heck is going on in this picture. The other challenge is little, teeny-tiny print. Unless the typeface is being used for artistic effect alone, please don't use a blurry 8 pt. font on an icon. Thank you. The Mgt.

What upsets me is when I see icons with quotes on that I swear, swear I've never seen before but are apparently witty/high minded/relevant. It makes me feel very inferior, it does.
