The difference in cable
Dec. 8th, 2007 03:56 pmSo now that I've been forced to switch from Comcast to Broadstar I have to admit that I miss Comcast--tremendously.
My internet cable connection is about one-tenth (or maybe one-eighth) the speed of my old connection.
Comcast-supplied channels I miss:
-Sci-Fi (GNASHING OF TEETH--I am now in the middle of a total fandom love of Ghost Hunters, and its denial is making me very cross indeed)
-Style Network
-E!
-Animal Planet
-Food Network They've suddenly just switched from Discovery Home to Food Network
-Turner Classic Movies
Broadstar-supplied channels I welcome:
-G4
-MTV2...well, kind of
-VH1 Classic DENIED--they claimed we would have it, but we have some crappy Big Ten channel instead
-Discovery Home DENIED--turned to Food Network (huzzah), but still want DH
-Oxygen--no, never mind, worse than Lifetime
Thank goodness we still have TLC and Comedy Central, or this would be a total wash.
This package has ten fewer channels than Basic Comcast. Four of our channels are Sirius music channels--uh, I already have a subscription, so no thanks. We also have either one or two additional sports channels and either one or two additional news channels. So I'm pretty much screwed. I almost wish I had just cancelled everything and gone with DSL.

Date: 2007-12-08 11:29 pm (UTC)Why did you have to switch from Comcast? And, maybe you should just go to DSL. Or will you be penalized?
