Today's decision: do I go to the bottom feeder show or not?

There is a group who hosts a discount art fair on certain Thursdays from 4-9pm during summer. I have signed up for three of them. I've been doing them for years, and on a good night I can take in about $350-400. They're only barely worth it, honestly, but I do like to go, because they're nice filler shows, they're late in the day, and they're not unpleasant.

However, the forecast for this evening shows a thunderstorm rolling in from 7-8pm. The one time I did the show and it started raining at 6 or so it scared off all the customers and I ended up taking in $100.

Given that this show is a two hour drive from my house (round trip gas: $60), I'm really thinking of skipping it. Then again, the forecast could be wrong.

If I stay home, I could make it a very productive situation by setting up my camera rig and taking photos for Etsy--I would really like to list some things on there, and soon. Still, this show could mean cash now, in my pocket. Hmm.

I hate making decisions. I'm so much better at criticizing the decisions of others instead.

ETA: I am watching the storm approach on Accuweather. Yeah, I'm not going. I think I'll watch a little LotR while I snap some photos for Etsy.

EETA: Argh! The mailman set off the dogs. Grr.

If it was me, I'd stay home and work on the etsy stuff, myself. :)

hahah! You know, that's what I'm leaning toward...still, I always feel guilty when I do things like this.

If I can get Etsy going, then maybe I'll feel a little better, like I actually earned my keep today. heh.

*hugs* I hope you feel better, by the way!

Oh, and I really am excited about Etsy--I made a bunch of new things specifically for the Etsy crowd and I'm so excited to see how they do.

Considering that weather forecast, I'd skip it.

Yeah, with the price of gas, I'm just not certain I want to drive all the way there for two hours of selling.

Plus, the forecast has stayed the same for the last two hours, so I doubt there will be much of a change.

Thanks so much for the input! :)

Bean says you should stay home and work on Etsy. That way, if you were her human, you'd be around to pet her.

Hey, don't look at me--I just report this stuff....[laughs]

I was leaning toward you should go because then you'd feel all virtuous and disciplined and all that but then I remembered the price of gas and got all pissed off (again) and no, you should stay home and do all the work you can from there.

/almost rant

hahaha! Yeah, I've pretty much decided to sit at home with some spaghetti and a camera.

I've pulled out the first "line" of stuff that I want to photograph, and I'm pretty excited!

Let's hope my mediocre camera skills are up to it...lol!

TRUER WORDS WERE NEVER SPOKEN

Seriously, this is always what happens to me.

And the sun is shining right now, btw, making me feel more and more like I'm blowing off work. ergh.

Yup. We had rain every day last week. So I turned my sprinklers off. Not a drop of rain this week until early this am--and of course I had turned them back on so they'd go on--wait for it--early this am!

Aren't there people out there who make their living by blogging?
And, yes, it is nice to have upper management to blame things on. Or--even better--consultants.
