Happy Birthday to an amazing essayist! How much do I love LJ for giving smart people a place to talk? Seriously, I never thought I'd like to read so many short essays, but I am always glutting myself on them, and yours are some of the best. Your keen insights into society and personality and the individual and fannish tendencies and...seriously, the breadth of your subjects is amazing. I always get excited when I see that you've posted.
