A busy Riptide bee

I'm just about six or seven lines from the ending of a short Riptide story, and I'm nearly done with the screencap commentary for Four Eyes, and I've even finished a new icons entry! Crazy, huh?

Outside there are gusting winds, and we lost power briefly last night from it. I doubt we'll have any trick-or-treaters, but we'll put the light on anyway. We're on a country road with a 50 mph speed limit, so I'd be astonished if anyone braved it, and there's the weather, too, but still, I'd love to see at least one outfit. I like Hallowe'en costumes.

I hope some little ones find the way to your house. While the tradition of trick-or-treat swapped over from the US, the idea that you put a light out or not to have them ring the bell or not has somehow not transpired yet :-D

I really do hope they come here! I don't have high hopes, though. So I made Husband buy the candy bars that we like, just in case. *grins* Even if we get no trick-or-treaters, we will at least have treats!

Aww... I grew up in a house that was up a steep hill in a quiet neighborhood. We didn't have many trick-or-treaters either. Nowadays, a lot of kids go to the malls, so there seem to be less of the little ones on the streets. Safer, I guess, but it seems like some of the excitement is lost. *sigh*

Yes, I grew up in the same kind of situation! A very quiet neighborhood, in a house with a steep driveway--though it was down a hill, not up. We always would get maybe one or two people total.

Still, walking from door to door in the next subdivision over is one of my happy memories--there really was a sense of community. SO many trick-or-treaters everywhere! Everybody giving treats! I miss that.
