too much to do
Apr. 2nd, 2010 02:10 pmHoly COW do I have a to-do list right now.
There are so many sections to this list. There is the Must Do Or Else list, which includes taxes, shipping packages, a shopping run, and eBay listings. There's the Must Do Because Of Houseguests list, which includes cleaning the bathrooms and picking up clutter. This list is making me crazy right now. At least I've taken care of one thing, which is combing out my hair. Yeah, I know that sounds totally hilarious that it was on a list, but it was. It's just so long right now that it's kind of a project to comb it out. Also, the headaches are killing me and I have to get this lens situation fixed.
There's the Want To Do Very Soon list, which includes putting together an entry about the House on the Rock before my memories fade, and buying supplies for my experimentation project. I need to blog about it on my craft blog. Also, I need to buy plants and clean up stuff outside and get ready for planting. And I need to put together a thank you entry for someone.
There's the Burning Desire list, which currently contains two items: finishing the giant fic, and also polishing a teeny Riptide story that I wrote in fifteen minutes after watching Anthony Bourdain in Vietnam.
There's the Backburner list, which includes things like creating another screencap commentary for Riptide.
So right now, I'm entering the charges that I took from the last two shows, and still boggling that people charge stuff under $10. There's just so much work on my end for such a low amount of money. grah. I know, I know, I could make a limit and all that jazz, but I have lots of low end stuff, and people get pissy, especially in this era of debit cards. Anyway, I'd rather just accept them and bitch about it later.
Oh, and a charge for $6 just came back denied. Great.
Even more grah: omg, a customer just contacted me. She's a good customer and I often put together custom orders for her. Well, for some reason I missed an item for one order, and then told her I'd put it in the next order. And then I forgot. And then I forgot again. I finally managed to send it to her. Then I made a HUGE mistake on a custom invoice--and almost overcharged her by $60. omg. And then I screwed something else up with the number of items.
And today's fiasco? Even though I thought I'd gotten her order right this time? YES. I SCREWED UP AGAIN AND SHORTED HER AGAIN. OMG. This is more than embarrassing--this is ridiculous. I usually make an error every 100 or so orders; but to make an error on several consecutive orders for the same customer? Yeah, I screamed in exasperation. I don't have time to deal with this right now. It involves having to go into Paypal to look at the stupid invoice, and now that I reread her email, it means I have to email her AGAIN to clarify which size she didn't receive because what she says she received isn't quite right, and omg, I hate mistakes with a bitter and deathless hatred, and I hate looking like an idiot, and omg.
And let me just add that I gave her great prices to make up for the idiocy I've put her through, so my margin is extremely slim.
Okay, so now I've gone through the order details on Paypal, and I have no clue what happened and I have to wait for her reply. More work, another package sent out where I have to eat shipping costs on merchandise that I barely had a margin on, and yes, I'm just about ready to melt down.
If I can get through this weekend without insane, it'll be a miracle.
