Okay. Saturday roundup.
Jun. 26th, 2010 11:32 amMy mom has left (wah), and now I face a very full day, night, and tomorrow of listings.
Yesterday my mom and I went to Bordine's. I had a little extra cash and wanted to buy a bunch of plants, especially considering that everything was on sale (20 to 50% off). Sadly, no tomato or zucchini plants. But I did snag two daylilies (omg, one is so awesome--it's called black-eyed susan and is incredibly similar in color to, well, black-eyed susans, and it's so vivid and lovely, I will try to take pics), one dwarf lily, three herbs, and...a hibiscus plant. YES. I mean, we never grow these here in MI, but it is claiming to be in our zone and OMG. I'm so excited, y'all. Bonus? My mom bought it all as a very early birthday present.
I also snagged two poppies who will be planted in the ditch (which is full of flowers because Husband's grandma literally just sprinkled seeds there years ago). It's near full sun, seriously, and I'm going to relocate the three daylily plants who are in the ditch because they're rather small and not doing incredibly well, mostly because the soil is too dry and the sun too intense. And I love daylilies--I would call them my favorite flowers, honestly, so this is win-win.
Also, my mom helped me pick out a new pair of frames. I am going to try a pair of glasses from Don, and then I will try returning the my current lenses to the optometrist.
I am finally caught up on the flist! Now to go look at the individual entries I put in tabs and finish reading and/or commenting. I'm still 1000+ behind in Google Reader but that won't take long at all, I think.
My brain is still starving for stuff. Fannish stuff and music. I'm sitting here and thinking, I should put Vice DVDs in or something while I'm scanning new merchandise. lol. And I want to listen to all sorts of music. And eat everything in sight. haha!
Okay, back to the digital grindstone.

Date: 2010-06-26 06:43 pm (UTC)Shamelessly, most of it is just so I can have an awesome soundtrack in the background of whatever I'm doing. Jan Hammer FTW. I adore the montages, too, like when they're just driving or walking or thinking or whatever, and it's just the music and the man/men...delicious.

Date: 2010-06-26 07:18 pm (UTC)What kind of herbs are you growing?
1000+ behind in Google Reader. I think I'd be having some sort of breakdown.

Date: 2010-06-26 08:19 pm (UTC)I'm growing some kind of thyme, sweet basil, and sage. squee! Well, it's all they had left, so that's what I had to get. lol.
And GR was originally at about 2500. I culled a whole bunch that I just don't have time for, and I think I'm just now under 1000. :)

Date: 2010-06-26 09:24 pm (UTC)I definitely want to see pictures of the black-eyed day lily. Bev will be interested in that...

Date: 2010-06-26 10:37 pm (UTC)And the daylily is really striking. I've seen tons of beautiful daylilies, but this one is really...well...striking! I can't wait to take pics of it. Sadly, it doesn't have a bloom open today, so I'll have to wait until tomorrow.

Date: 2010-07-01 05:52 pm (UTC)Eee, sage. I LOVE sage, honestly. I can find a way to work sage into just about everything.
2500. O.O Holy crap.
