Before I get into my whining, don't forget to go to the pond life pics entry and vote on how many frogs you think are in the pic, if you are inclined to do so. It'll be like the Wheel of Fish! You could win...absolutely nothing!

So I went to see the doctor. My brain doesn't work well when I'm sick, so I'm confused by what the doctor said, as usual. He claimed it wasn't a viral thing, that it was allergies. But three other people I was in close contact with had the exact same thing. And this seems a little intense for allergies. Now, if he meant that it was a sinus infection brought on by allergies, then I might be a little more apt to believe. And one other bit of (TMI) evidence--the last 3 out of 4 sinus infections I've had did not involve any nasal drainage through the nose, only the throat.

I have a show on Saturday, and I have a five pack antibiotic thing which will cause me digestive issues for days, but if it means I can talk on Saturday, then it's worth it.

I plan on sorting merchandise and taking it easy today. I was going to go to the post office, but I think I won't. I'm just feeling low on energy right now. And I'm so sore from coughing. blech. Poor Husband--he has been having very sleepless nights because I keep coughing. I did offer to sleep in another room but he refused adamantly.

I've been watching a lot of Miami Vice. S2 is really great and there's one point where there are several really good eps in a row and I just keep liking this show so much. There are moments of unbelievability, but not as many as other cop shows, it seems to me. Jake & the Fatman is especially egregious with their unbelievable plotlines.

Hope you all are having a good day, flist.

I think this crud is making its way across the country. I woke up with a sore throat on a Sunday, had a completely stuffed nose/head on Monday, and by Wednesday I was coughing my head off. I called the dr. on Fri. when it seemed that I wasn't getting any better and when my allergy meds were failing me. The nurse called me in a Z-Pac (which wreaks havoc on my system--fun!) and that kept any infection at bay. However, the congestion and coughing stuck around for another 2 wks.! By the time it was completely over, it had been a 3 1/2 wk. process. Many, many people that I know here have had 'it' too. It starts off as if you've got sinus or allergy problems, gets worse and then evens out. It sticks around too long, but it does eventually go away. We just call it 'the crud' around here. My husband and daughter had it as well. Hang in there! It does get better! I found that using a saline nasal spray throughout the day helped, as well as Mucinex and Sudafed. Feel better soon!

This crud is awful! I know so many people who have a version of it.

And my one friend is now on week three with it. ugh! It really does suck.

And that's what I'm taking--a Z-Pac. I hate them so much, because they make me so sick with digestive issues, but I really want to get better soon, and it's usually my best chance.

Sadly, I have tried Mucinex three times (and three different kinds) and it has never done anything at all for me. I've had it recommended to me over and over again, but it just doesn't work for me.

I usually use Theraflu the first few nights just so I can sleep. I'll probably switch to a cough syrup. I can breathe just fine--it's just the throat that's causing me trouble. :(

Thanks for the comment, sweetie! You're so sweet.

You know about the yogurt thing, right? I hate yogurt, but the last time I was on ABX that caused digestive issues, my nurse friend told me to eat yogurt, and I found she was right, so I choked down one cup of yogurt a day while I took them.

Oh, yeah, and my boss and I both have that creeping crud, whatever it is, and so do at least two other people at work, and another of my online friends.

Sadly, the yogurt would do more harm; I'm somewhat lactose-intolerant, and yogurt is one of the things that makes me unhappy. (And yogurt is one of my favorite things to eat, boo-hoo!)

Everybody has the crud, damnit! It's everywhere. No wonder I couldn't escape it. :(

Blech. >.<

Since you can't eat yogurt, you may want to see if your local drugstores carry acidophilus tablets or capsules or powder or something. They're probiotics, so will bolster your digestive system health and keep the natural bacteria that antibiotics tend to strip away. Might make the Z-Pack easier on your system.

Oh, interesting! Thanks, I'll look into that.

So far my digestive system is holding, which is a surprise. *crosses fingers*
