I am supposed to be working on taxes, but it's far, far, far too depressing, so I am uploading pictures instead.

I used to take a lot of black and white pictures, but I've mostly stopped. They were awful.

About four years ago I thought I'd try to use up one last roll of black & white film. Our beautiful old Ford tractor was spending its last night in the driveway, and I thought I'd chronicle its last evening with us.

Tractor1 Tractor1

First view of the tractor.
Tractor2 Tractor2

Head-on view of the tractor.
Tractor3 Tractor3

Jaunty angle.
Tractor4 Tractor4

Very large wheel.
Tractor5 Tractor5

There was this beam of light being reflected through a small container of amber liquid within the tractor. It was beautiful. The picture doesn't really capture it, but it was awesome.
Tractor6 Tractor6

My favorite picture of the tractor.

Oops! No, actually, it was my father's. I was saying "Our" as in our household. Crazy me, sorry about that.

I love this tractor - it looks very character-y, like a disney creation with those headlamp eyes and the cant and tilt of the way it sags there on the driveway. It looks wary in the second pic.

lovely! :)

(and a tractor in the driveway is nothin' new for me. The fact that there are not cats and kids climbing all over it is the weird part.)

You're right! It does look like a Disney character.

I love your comments. They're wise and insightful and sweet...

I love black and white photos... there is just something so "pure" about them.

Very nice pics, Valis. You have a good eye. :)

Very much agreed. Love black and white photo's they bring out a character and depth (especially in people) that always seems to be lacking in colour photography, and that tractor has character in spades!

Lovely photo's and brings me back to my summer holidays when I was a younger 'un, trundling around on one, sunshine and the scent of hay in the air as it was being baled. (sigh...wafts away on nostalgia trip).

I have more black and white photos of myself as a child than I want to admit... :)

Hmm...63? I think? or 67?

Not too old. But they do have one just like it in Greenfield Historical Village (at the car museum).
