Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] karasu_hime I've found a new artist I like...[livejournal.com profile] tbranch.

Everyone has specific tastes in artists...I like strong lines, forceful styles, dark themes, and this artist definitely fits the bill. Check out this drawing of SS/RL...cool. Definitely cool. There is a strong comic-book look to it which I really enjoyed. And here's a good one of Snape. One last link: tbranch on Deviantart.

I'm glad you like him! I love the exact same things you do about his artwork, it's refereshing to look at and the men are so masculine that it's wonderful.

It's so interesting how art appeals in different ways...sometimes I love delicate lines, pale colors...yet other times, bold, thick-lined, stark appeals to me. :)

Thanks *so much* for putting up that link! I always enjoy finding new artists.

The man's definitely got style. I must sign into DA, so that I can add a few of his works to my favourites. Now that I know what kind of art you like, I'll keep an eye out.

My favorite two artists: [livejournal.com profile] snapesforte and [livejournal.com profile] djinniyah. :) This [livejournal.com profile] tbranch guy is pretty awesome, too, though.

*grins* Thank you. I think you'll find that there's loads of new art from me, awaiting your perusal.

I just read the other comments, and am now observing the 'masculanity'. I think about this whenever I draw, and where faces are concerned, I like to fem my boys up, a little (men, contrary to popular belief, do actually have eye lashes, and lips). I suppose I'm in it for the details. ;)

I adore his Viktor, and his Lord Voldemort.

Someone else replied to the gravestone thing:

It means "In Hoc Signo" a Latin phrase maeaning
"In this sign" (the cross)[you shall conquer].
Supposedly the motto of the Emperor Constantine.
It is a Christian symbol.

I thought the lack of cyrillic script with the first one was a little odd.

One last reply:

This is actually a relatively common symbol found in religious cemeteries.

IHS or IHC, the first three letters of the Greek for Jesus, appear in many
versions, often incorporating a Latin cross. Many meanings have been attached
to it, such as Jesus Savior of Men or Humble Society of Jesus, the emblem of
the Jesuits. It is also an abbreviation for "in this sign conquer." IHS is
primarily a monogram for Christ.
