Various and sundry

I have finally remembered the third event that belongs in chapter 70!!! Finally! I can write chapter 70 with a clean conscience!
I have this substitutive memory, you see. I will think, oh, I have to clean up the couch, shred the documents, and put away the mail. My brain will think, I have to do three things in the office. Later, I will only remember that I have to do three things in the office, and I'll forget the actual items, because I've substituted the list with the number of things for the list of the items.
So for two weeks I've been racking my brain for what the hell the third thing was, and it just occurred to me on the drive home.
YAY!!!

Had an appointment this morning that was 3 1/2 hour drive away. Then drove hour farther north to have lunch with parental units, which was delightful (parents) and mediocre (lunch). I love them so. They are very happy, and that makes me happy.
Then drove 3 1/2 hours home. whew. I am so tired. This morning's drive was awful. I actually ended up calling people to try to stay awake (which is the worst-case scenario). Music wasn't working, and I didn't have time to stop for a caffeine-laden beverage.
This evening I just had a Coke before I even got in the car. I really hate carbonated beverages (except yummy cane sugar root beers) and drinking Coke is a bit like what I would imagine drinking battery acid would taste like. I used to be a Pepsi addict in my teens, but dropped that years and years ago at this point. Well, anyway, the Coke kept me sane, thank goodness. The Foo Fighters helped too.
The appointment went well, and I also stopped at a gallery that has my work. The owner was there, and we started talking, and I realized that I've been selling stuff through her shop for seven or eight years at this point. She's so great. It's so nice to have a gallery owner be that honest and sweet and totally wonderful.
---
I've overscheduled myself this week bigtime. Appointments nearly every day, and working at the day job on the one day that I have off, and then the weekend will be spent at a show 2 hours away from me apartment...argh. I will be crashing majorly on Monday, I tell you.

Date: 2005-09-15 10:39 am (UTC)The industry I work in is small, so I don't like to say on LJ...if I say it, then I would have to go back and modify many, many entries. The people I work for are very private in many ways and some of the details I've given out are fine while they're anonymous, but I'd hate to ruin their privacy by listing what I do, because it's related.
