Bits of this and that
Oct. 21st, 2005 06:56 amThe neck is feeling better. I wore a stick-on heating pad at work yesterday and it seemed to help a lot. Will wear one today as well.
---
Tomorrow I am going on a cemetery walk. I'm pretty geeked. I really hope the weather is decent so I can bring the camera.
---
I ended up having to break the next chapter up into three pieces. The first piece is still with
mariannelee, who graciously is beta'ing it twice. It's kind of an important chapter and I really want to get it right.
---
LJ seems dead all of a sudden. Either that, or I'm not getting comment emails or something. Yesterday during work I went hours without any new emails, which is rare. Everybody must be running around enjoying the last of the non-freezing weather, I guess. My flist wasn't even over skip 30 this morning, which is also rare.
---
Have a great day, flist!

Date: 2005-10-21 11:19 am (UTC)There is a very old graveyard near me - apparently it had been neglected and forgotten for yonks, and finally the township did what they could to restore it. Sadly many of the stones were broken or lost, but it does give it that suitably creepy vibe. Several of the stones are for soldiers of the revolutionary war, which is pretty cool.
Once we were walking through there, and Charlie picked up the American flag from one of the soldier's grave, and I had to laugh. I told him he needed to put it back, and thought to myself 'or the soldier will start haunting us.' I explained why the flag was there, and now he thinks everyone buried in a cemetary was a soldier.
I should take him to Arlington.
Enjoy your walk!

Date: 2005-10-21 11:37 am (UTC)Everybody must live somewhere warmer than me, we have a high of 52 today, and it's 40 right now. Big high of 43 tomorrow. Too cold, too fast, dammit.

Date: 2005-10-21 11:42 am (UTC)It has been quiet though... The fandom isn't as active as it used to be, and that seems to account for about 50% of my f-list postings. Probably yours, too.
Chapter broken in three? Hmmm... Hope it goes down well!

Date: 2005-10-21 11:44 pm (UTC)Yeah, I think that HBP really took the wind out of the sails somehow. I think it tied up a lot of loose ends that people were playing with a lot...

Date: 2005-10-21 02:09 pm (UTC)Yeah, I've noticed this too...I went from about 20 emails to one yesterday. Haven't had too much to say, plus my wrist is flairing and it hurts to type. I'll probably spam lj later today though! :D

Date: 2005-10-21 11:52 pm (UTC)Yeah, I realized that, even though the readers would have no problem reading a chapter of that length, there are two points with rising action, and I really didn't want it to look like a roller coaster. So I decided to chop it up, which will make it flow better. Er, I hope, at least.
