Weekend. Hmph.
Sep. 12th, 2004 07:21 pmWent to Renfest yesterday, and hung out with good friends
bob_the_mighty and
arachniaarkhe and others. It was wonderful to speak with them. Even though
arachniaarkhe is going through some difficult times, she still sat and patiently listened to my whining and was incredibly supportive. Thanks, you. And
bob_the_mighty refrained from doing "jazz hands". Much. ;)
Of course, I ended up having one of those moments. I was sitting, talking about whatever, at the booth where they work, and ex-friends walked past. The only EX-friends I really have, people I parted with under difficult circumstances. They live in another state but occasionally come back to this one. I've seen him a couple times in the last five years. But not her. It was rather an odd moment. I really was gobsmacked. Worst part is, they're still friends with
bookwench2096, so I couldn't really go and visit her as I had hoped. So all in all the day was kind of a bust. I became depressed and left. I feel quite tense after the event, and it is getting even more tense now that I am finalizing the hotel fees. The Heron Island thing is becoming quite the expensive little portion of the vacation.
Just wanted to whine, really.
Good thing is that my sister gave me the Sony Acid program for my birthday (thanks sis!), so now I can finally attempt to make music on the computer. Bad news is, it is all about moving loops around, not creating music. You apparently need an external MIDI editor for that. So now I must purchase another program. However, this Acid program is so incredibly easy and fun to use that it will be a snap to use to put together my MIDI tracks once I've created them. So no problems there, honest. I'm happy as a clam. Plus, maybe I can put together some funky canned music. Heh heh. I bet that for electronic musicians that is the same as making jewelry from components you bought at a tacky crafts store. Anyway, it looks like I have a new and enjoyable way to waste even more time. Joy!
