The Christmas aftermath.
Dec. 26th, 2005 03:37 pmI have enough money to purchase an MP3 player.
But I'm still waffling on the whole MP3 player issue. I have several specific desires to fulfill, y'see, and I'd like to do it in the most efficient manner.
At first I thought I had a killer solution. Sirius released the S50, which is their portable satellite radio/MP3 player. I thought, how perfect is this? It's an MP3 player already, and I can take it anywhere.
Of course it turned out to be a mirage. It does not play live feeds by itself. It only does so when in its loading dock. It's about $320-350, and once detached from its loading dock, you listen to prerecorded content. Not exactly what I had in mind, but I could have two loading docks, a car version and a home version, and then listen to it, and it would work in both places, I think. Though I'm not totally sure.
The other option? What I've been really craving, the Zen Touch MP3 Player, which is $240. And then I could get Sirius separately, and have a receiver in my car, and be able to plug it into my car and into work.
I like having separates. I would never buy a VCR/TV combo or a printer/fax/scanner thing. I'm not into that. But still, having one piece of equipment, so nicely portable...but then again, if I have several songs in the S50, I might not be able to record enough of the satellite radio programming.
Yes, I've been arguing about all of this in my head since April. I am so tremendously indecisive.
Hmm. I've looked at this product review and I'm starting to lean towards the S50. It's just a shame, though, because the Zen Touch player is so wonderful and has everything I want. And the S50 has a six hour battery life, while the Zen Touch has---
Oops,
gypsyjolie is on her way over! A little earlier than expected! Wow. *squee*

Date: 2005-12-27 02:20 am (UTC)I never even thought of it that way! That is hysterical. I should have known better than to label something Sirius without adding "satellite". Ha! rofl.
