Happy to be home. We got home Sunday night, late.

It was a lovely New Year's Eve/Day. My mom cooked lovely meals, with enough leftovers to have an entire meal last night here at the apartment. Mmm! Fondue is awesome. I always think about all of the fondue pots given during the sixties/seventies as gifts, and how my family is one of the few who put it to good use for many, many years. Heh.

We saw King Kong on NYE, and I'll write a blurb about it at some point.

Finally got out and purchased new clothing from Vain Giant (Lane Bryant). Thank goodness. It seemed a little expensive, but it's because I missed a sign for a pair of pants and thought they were much cheaper than they actually were. I also bought one of those Seven pairs of jeans, the kind that are $89.50, but they were clearanced and in my size, and I bought them for around $30, yay happy. However, I'll have to go back, because they forgot to take the security tag off. Heh.

Also returned a Josh Groban CD that was supposed to be a gift for my mom, but turns out she wouldn't want it, it's a live CD and she hates those.

On the way back from shopping part of my exhaust system fell off my car. Is this one of those clues that point to a new car? Yeah, but I'm stubborn. I'm at 180,000 and I'd like to finish at 200K before I finally close the curtains. One more year. I'm hoping it's not an expensive one, or that will defeat the purpose of driving it another year.

That's probably 180k miles, not kilometers, right? Sheesh - that is a tough little car of yours...

Welcome back, Valis! ~hugs~ And happy new year, sweetie!

I'll keep my fingers crossed on your having that car for another year. :) Once a car is paid off, I find you generally have those one-off car payments every year (in reality, maintenance). Let's hope this is the only car payment you'll make this year! ::crosses legs for good measure::

Vain Giant *snicker* Never heard it called that before, now the next time I go there I'll be thinking that and snickering thru the store.
Good luck with your car. I'm driving the craptastic crapvan and something new breaks on it every couple of weeks. It's quite annoying. AND I only have 53,000 miles on it.

Welcome back! Yes; leftovers from home...yum. One of the simple pleasures in life.

How strange; I was going off to buy jeans today, actually...

I love fondue. I want some!

Gotta love Lane Briant. I ordered some great leggings from there and my mom recently sent me some nice pants which I love because they don't wrinkle. I hate ironing work clothes.

What kind of car is it?

Oh, yes, 180,000 miles, most definitely.

I'm amazed that it's still doing so well, honestly. But most of the miles are freeway miles, so it makes sense.

It's been paid off for a few years now...I bought it in 96. It's a happy car most of the time! Though it's a bit dirty right now...heh.

And happy new year and hugs to you!!

I am always afraid I'm going to get a craptastic vehicle and be paying through the nose for repairs. I've been stupendously lucky (knock on virtual wood, heh) with both of my last cars. They've needed very little except oil changes, though now I'm into the stage where this car needs a great deal more, like universal joint repair, etc. Fortunately, I know a mechanic who is very good to me.

My mom's a great cook, and I looooove leftovers too.

Jeans are my weakness, honestly. I have so many pairs of them at this point that it's getting a little silly. But I have to have one for each mood. Watch out for my bitchy jeans.

There is no fondue left, wah! ;)

Lane Bryant used to be a big weakness of mine. Over the last few years, though, I've been a little sad with their selection. They do follow the trends, which is great, but some of them are just not really helpful for big girls.

I don't wear halter tops (I must wear a bra, there is no exception), anything that is see through, anything rayon, anything that is really frighteningly dry clean only, any shirt that is cropped, any shirt with lace or seethrough panels in rather silly places, any shirt that looks like lingerie, any shirt/pants with beading, sequins, or gold glitter.

Whew! I am so demanding.

Anyway, LB really seems to have embraced nearly everything in that paragraph, which makes it a little difficult. I was so happy when they were making shirts with beautiful Art Nouveau patterns on them, but half of them had sequins, and most of the rest were rayon/seethrough, and they only had them for a couple seasons. So I keep hoping for fun, patterned shirts, but I'm disappointed each time. I'm getting really bored with the solid color t shirts they sell. I have so many!

Heh...more than you ever wanted to know about my clothing habits.

And it's good to see you on LJ!!

Try

www.roamans.com

For clothes. I can't see the pics of the clothes but friends have suggested it to me. I don't wear any of the things you were talking about either. Also, QVC has lots of plus sizes. I just ordered a few tunics and some sweats suits from there. Try their denom and Co or Sports Savy lines. They also have great bras and underwear under their breezies line.

Since I don't have cable TV. I am not a small person so it stinks having to try to find clothes.

Bummer about the fondue.

Aw, thanks! I missed everybody.

I'm still trying to catch up.

I started at skip?=660, and am finally at 180, though I'm going to bed now. Whew!
