Rattlesnakes exit sign: it does exist.

Why would anyone exit here, I wonder?

I just barely got this picture, hence the horrible quality. I whipped the camera around as we flew past it at 70 miles an hour.

AZ Rattlesnakes

We were waiting for my friend's husband to come back from the gas station when my friend noticed the strange hand above the sign. I laughed and laughed.

AZ attack

Nice scenery. Probably New Mexico or something.

AZ landscape

Moony landscape part one.

AZ landscape with moon

Moony landscape part two.

AZ landscape with moon

Another landscape.

AZ landscape

Windmills! I'm obsessed, I admit. Oklahoma.

AZ landscape with windmills

That last smudge of light before the sun disappears. Oklahoma again, I think.

AZ sunset

Great landscapes. And that hand is just so menacing!

It was crazy. I think it was a King Kong promotion balloon that went awry. *giggles*

Lovely pictures. I thought that the quality on the first one was OK. And I can certainly see why you wanted to snap it!

It is gigantic and made out of metal, which is quite rusted at this point. It really is an amazing sign. I always wonder about who constructed it, and whether anyone still sells rattlesnakes on that exit simply because the sign still brings people in.

I wonder about the people who live near it, who roll their eyes when people stop by and ask about the rattlesnakes.

Love the moon landscape ones, very pretty. The hand reaching over BK was hilarious.

I'm still giggling about the hand myself! ;)

Perhaps it is not an invitation, but a command to the rattlesnakes to vacate the highway at that point? Best rattlesnake truckstop here! Mice 2-for1!

That is the sort of sign that makes me consider not getting out of my car for the rest of the state.

That sign has always intrigued me. I have some strange vision of an old man holding rattlesnakes and waiting patiently for customers every day. And yet they dwindle. Fewer and fewer people care for his wares. The sign he built as a young man rusts and slowly deteriorates. Who will take up his work? One day there will be no one to deal in deadly serpents and the world will forget his lesson.

Awww...rural southern Arizona...the pictures make me homesick.

The peak in the third picture down looks rather like the one on the reservation between Tucson and my parent's old house in Ajo (just south of Why).

That hand looks like someone about to go under in BK for the third time... ;) Nice landscapes. I'll get something better than 3 megapixels one day...
