Some thoughts

Apparently the first episode of Lost is on. I'm only half paying attention to it. I'd like a Sayid, please. Or two. Hurley? I love the character, but the actor playing him is...well, he just isn't that great an actor to me. He often has the same expression on his face, no matter what's happening. That bugs me. He has some great lines, but the boring face just makes me mental.

I am finally finished with the flist. Jeebus. I had to skip entries; it was just too much. I skipped several cut entries; I just have too much to do right now. I'm sorry, I tried my best! I read a lot of entries, honestly. Probably 85-90%. Just not quite everything. I apologize.

I have so much to read. My bookmarks folder has never been so stuffed! I'm still not caught up with the incredible fic bonanza that was December.

I keep wondering if I should change my lj name. The "2" really bugs me. Yeah, I get annoyed easily. But valis is taken, by someone who updates regularly, so there's no chance that I'll ever get it. I've been entertaining other names in my head; valismort, valisrocks, valisfic, valisia, valisvalis, oh, I have no idea. Nothing sounds good to me.

Anyway. Yeah. I'm having a productive day; sent in an application for a new kind of show, and I'm really, really excited. It's a first-come, first-serve kind of show, so I don't have to worry about being left out because the "balance" of the show is affected. Not a craft show/art fair, it's a specific merchandise kind of show. I have my fingers crossed that I'm sending this in time to get in.

On the show Kate is finding other shoes. Lucky girl. If I were in that situation...heh. I'd be in so much trouble. I wear a size 12, after all. I'd have to steal shoes from a guy.

My slightly dyslexic brain transformed valisia to visalia, which is the name of the nearby town where I do my shopping. Just thought I'd let you know that if you *do* change your name to valisia, some part of my mind will be thinking "small town in Central Valley". (Though I understand the hatred of numbers with user names.)

It's OK; I have to steal shoes from children. (And I'll tell you, finding big, stompy goth boots in children's sizes is not easy.)

I can sympathize with the LJ name woes--some interloper had already taken Branwyn when I joined.
How about Valisific? Sounds like an adjective ("she's truly valisific!")and also includes the word "fic."

I keep toying with the idea of a silly polly called "Check your valosity" (ahaha, velocity pun). I dunno. I want something really simple and short. I love valis because it's so short, it starts with v, which is unusual, and it's easy to remember. It bothers me to have that 2 there.

My mom has the opposite problem, she wears a kids size 2. My nine year olds feet are bigger than my mom's. Mom has the worst time finding sneakers that aren't pink and sparkly. *snickers*

Being on either side of the shoe extremes really does suck. I once dated a guy who wore a S/XS size shirt, and it was pretty tough to find clothes for him. Fortunately, we could usually find something in the clearance section because it was one of those clothing extremes. Unfortunately it was usually burnt orange.

I'd like to avoid underscores, so the_valis is out. Thevalis seems like one word, I think, and anyone who didn't know me as valis2 would be a bit confused, though it's an interesting thought.

I really wish that there wasn't already a valis. When I signed up at fanfictionnet, valis was taken, so I had to use valis2 there as well. Little did I know that would be a common theme. Valis is taken everywhere. But usually just valis, leaving valis[number] free almost everywhere. When I started the journal, I really only started it to comment on pottersues, and I had very little intention of updating. But now I find myself seeing that 2 and thinking "wah" thoughts.

Not that it impacts world peace or anything. But it is a little irritating, no? :)

but if you change your name, can you change it and have all your entires still int he journal? Or do you have to start over?

Oh, obviously I wasn't paying the strictest of attentions. ;) Still, I'd have less of a choice than many.

The underscore choice makes me nervous...they're doing all this dash-replacing-the-underscore stuff right now, and I like underscores even less than numbers. Yeah, I'm pretty damned picky.

Keep the Valis 2. It's how I knew who you were. Of course, I don't have mine as White Owl2 but none of my friends know me as that just the HP fandom so I figured it didn't matter that I'm imafarmgirl. Maybe I should have taken my own advice. I probably have multiple personality disorder.
