A terribly n00by question...

I would like to include a few pics with my next two Aust posts. What methods do you use to insert pics in your posts? I think we have to have the pics hosted offsite, correct? Many people seem to mention photobucket...is that a good service?

Let me know if you have any good solutions.

I use the semagic client and it has a button that you can use to insert pics into the post. If you do pics, I strongly recommend putting them behind a cut!

I use Semagic as well...I wasn't aware that you could simply upload them like that. I thought they had to be hosted somewhere else.

And don't worry...they will most definitely be behind a cut. Even without pictures I was going to cut it, because of the length.

I was really surprised that I somehow doubleposted Aust: Part one, because I've never had that problem with Semagic before...it told me that there had been an error and it hadn't sent it, so I hit the post button again. Ugh.

well, yes, they do...but if you have a paid account, livejournal has fotobuilder now. otherwise, try using photobucket. Totally forgot that part! sorry....

I use an account on Photobucket - I believe it has limited bandwidth for each user though, and often goes down.

I'll check it out. I have seen the errant markers for Photobucket photos before, lamenting their overtaxed bandwidth.

As an alternative to photobucket, freewebs.com is a decent place to store pictures, but you have to be careful when uploading them. I get broken links all the time, so I usually just include a link to make sure it's working right.
