I was very much expecting to see [livejournal.com profile] bob_the_mighty.

No Bob. Vanished, apparently. In his place was Not-Bob.

I was very much expecting to see [livejournal.com profile] atdt1991.

No Scott. And I have forgotten to program his number into my phone.

So I spent today wandering. And talking to my incredibly dear friend [livejournal.com profile] bookwench2096, but since she's there to work, I have to keep it short and sweet.

I did take some pics, though.

I finally got to see the human chess game. I came in halfway. Queen Elizabeth was playing a game against King Phillip and if he won, they were to marry.

Each time a "chess piece" was to attempt to take another chess piece, they would clear the board and battle it out.

Here are two guards attempting to best King Phillip's Knight.

Two on One

He defeats one, which leaves the Scot.

Naughty Spaniard vs. Scot

The Spaniard wins. Mmm. Thigh.

Naughty Spaniard Wins

The Gravedigger is called upon to defeat the men who were standing in the Queen spot...yes, the Queens.

Gravedigger vs. the Queens

The Gravedigger did not fare well.

Gravedigger in peril

Then King Phillip's...gardener? I think, goes against one of Elizabeth's guards. Love the "come get some" hand motion.

Gardener vs. Man-at-arms

It's a hard-fought battle, but the guard wins. Mmm...hair.

Gardener struggling

The Spaniard then fights Sydney. She's happy to oblige.

Naughty Spaniard vs. Sydney

Sydney does not lose ground

Make that very happy to oblige.

Er...Sydney/Spaniard smooch

So now only the Queens stand in King Phillip's way.

Naughty Spaniard vs. Queens

They are, of course, victorious.

Queens win

King Phillip concedes defeat. (Heh...the Half-Blood Prince has a few more tricks up his sleeve...)

King Phillip concedes

Queen Elizabeth is relieved.

Wow. Great pictures.

I like your new LJ style! It's very much easier to read than the old one, and the headline is so beautiful.

I'd very much hoped to see you! :\ I didn't know where to meet up with you, and apparently "random" didn't work. *sigh* I hope you enjoyed yourself anyway!

Tee hee hee! I love the "queens" in their victory pose! And King Phillip kind of looks like the Burger King's evil brother in that crown.

Your Ren Fest is so much better than the one down here (in May). Looks like so much fun!

I love the pic where the "queens" have defeated the naughty Spaniard. The leftmost "queen" seems to have taken his moniker literally!

Looks like much fun was had by all!

Oh, yay! I'm glad it works for you. I'm a bit unhappy with the giant strip down the side with the huge list of comments received, but there's no way to turn it off.

Otherwise, I love it!

I'm so bummed that I didn't find you, seriously! I ended up just kind of wandering around.

I checked in at the LAW booth a couple times, but no luck. I also watched the parade in my customary spot, and watched Tracy's show, two things I nearly always do, but never saw you. wah!

I hope you had a lovely day, though. I did enjoy myself, but it would have been a little more fun with some happy company.

The chess game was the highlight for me, honestly. I enjoyed it so much!

He totally looked like the Burger King. It was kind of eerie.

They were hilarious! Seriously! One was the Royal Tailor, and he was "Armani", and the other was the Royal Interior Decorator, and he was "Chippendale". Heh.

I did have fun :) I was at the Green Grove Stage to watch my friend Ari do her bellydancing. Actually, they pulled me on stage! So I had to bellydance with them. Good thing I'm such a ham ;)

I also looked for bob, and since he wasn't there, I frequently visited Chuck at the Nethercraft building by the washing women stage. :) Lucy and I mostly just wandered about aimlessly, though, which was just fine.

I forgot to buy honey! I'm bummed, silly skennedy.

I did check out the Nethercraft building once, but couldn't remember if they were such good friends that I could leave my phone number with them for you to call me. I didn't want to be scary and stuff. ha!

I'm so sorry I missed the bellydancing!

Well, we still have a few weekends left. ;)

:) Indeed. Chuck is an old friend of mine, and could have given you my number, or called me, or any of the above. You didn't have any way to know that, though! *s*
