I was very much expecting to see
bob_the_mighty.
No Bob. Vanished, apparently. In his place was Not-Bob.
I was very much expecting to see
atdt1991.
No Scott. And I have forgotten to program his number into my phone.
So I spent today wandering. And talking to my incredibly dear friend
bookwench2096, but since she's there to work, I have to keep it short and sweet.
I did take some pics, though.
I finally got to see the human chess game. I came in halfway. Queen Elizabeth was playing a game against King Phillip and if he won, they were to marry.
Each time a "chess piece" was to attempt to take another chess piece, they would clear the board and battle it out.
Here are two guards attempting to best King Phillip's Knight.

He defeats one, which leaves the Scot.

The Spaniard wins. Mmm. Thigh.

The Gravedigger is called upon to defeat the men who were standing in the Queen spot...yes, the Queens.

The Gravedigger did not fare well.

Then King Phillip's...gardener? I think, goes against one of Elizabeth's guards. Love the "come get some" hand motion.

It's a hard-fought battle, but the guard wins. Mmm...hair.

The Spaniard then fights Sydney. She's happy to oblige.

Make that very happy to oblige.

So now only the Queens stand in King Phillip's way.

They are, of course, victorious.

King Phillip concedes defeat. (Heh...the Half-Blood Prince has a few more tricks up his sleeve...)

Queen Elizabeth is relieved.

Date: 2006-08-28 05:04 am (UTC)I like your new LJ style! It's very much easier to read than the old one, and the headline is so beautiful.

Date: 2006-08-28 04:06 pm (UTC)I checked in at the LAW booth a couple times, but no luck. I also watched the parade in my customary spot, and watched Tracy's show, two things I nearly always do, but never saw you. wah!
I hope you had a lovely day, though. I did enjoy myself, but it would have been a little more fun with some happy company.

Date: 2006-08-28 04:12 pm (UTC)I also looked for bob, and since he wasn't there, I frequently visited Chuck at the Nethercraft building by the washing women stage. :) Lucy and I mostly just wandered about aimlessly, though, which was just fine.
I forgot to buy honey! I'm bummed, silly skennedy.
