Have just read a terrific gen story: Much To Do, Ere The End, by coyotegoth.

It features a terrific Dumbledore. Now, some of you know that I do not care for the character of Dumbledore, but this is an exception. It was very well written, and the magical details are terrific. People are using magic to do amazing, wonderful things in this fic, innovative things...you know that I love that, when people bring you into a magical world and do something magical. I love that.

The story features Snape and Dumbledore, and the only thing I could possibly say is that Snape is a bit wooden, but it's probably because he's interacting with the Headmaster, the one person who knows everything about him (I think).

The last few lines are beautifully layered.

He's done loads of research and stuff for it. I've seen him fretting about it on my flist *g* He's a good writer. Although, I have to admit I haven't read it, because... it's gen. And there's Dumbledore. *shamefaced* I just realised now that that is why... gods, am I so deeply immersed in the slash that I can't venture out for a little gen?

Ha! I totally understand. I rarely click on gen either, especially not Dumbledore gen, but...I was intrigued by it, and I'm sooo glad I clicked.
