Well, I finally figured out how to upload to Sycophant Hex, the Snape-centric archive that I've been interested in. I have sent the first chapter to them, and I hope they approve, though the first chapter is...er...Snape-free. Now that I am writing this I feel profoundly stupid. But oh well. I have 48 more chapters after that, with plenty of snark and potions to spare. I do really hope they'll accept it.
Just finished 49, and fa.org put it up faster than light speed. I am impressed. Next up...
Chapter 50.
Wow.
77,000 words. And chapter 50. I never would have thought I could sustain something for this long, but it's working. And I have saved the best for last. I can't wait. The next twenty chapters or so...or thirty...will pull the characters around a demented merry-go-round.
I received a review yesterday...they said " I don't see this story having a very happy ending." Interesting. I'm glad that I have developed the tension enough to the point where people doubt that it will end in a predictable, tie-up-all-the-loose-threads-and-live-happily-ever-after manner.
Next time I begin something new, though, I am going to try to stay with CC for a bit. Not that OCs are bad...it's just that so many people avoid them. And I'd like to write something short and sweet. Or a few short and sweet things. Something where I can put a bit of extra style in. After all, in this story I've been trying to keep the Rowling-voice on high. Something new would be a nice challenge.
La la la...thinking about new chapters...
