I passed by a church that had a giant sign out front in some sort of unusual font...sort of reminded me of lettering for an album.

The sign proclaimed: ROCK 4 SOULS.

I don't know if it's just me, but that doesn't seem like a very good trade.

Plus there's the whole problem of only receiving a portion of the rock. I assume that there is a timeshare program involved, which makes it even less attractive. Association fees and all that.

ETA: Oh, this sporking of odd superheroes is HYSTERICAL. roflmao and stuff. Thank you [livejournal.com profile] kaiz.

Argh.

I was going to do my fractured fairy tale based on this really beautiful fairy tale I read in Cricket magazine while I was growing up.

Years ago I gave my old Cricket magazines away, though, so I don't have that issue any longer. I didn't think it would be difficult to find, though.

But I just started thinking...I have several collections of fairy tales, and I've never seen this particular one. I just now tried to look it up, but I can't find it online.

I can write it, still, and make it work, even though I haven't read it in so long...but I won't have anywhere to link it to, and I'm afraid no one will know the source story. Hmm. I might still do it anyway. It's just such an interesting idea.

argh.

ETA: Though I did find Wolverine fanfiction while searching. Odd.

ETA: I've figured it out. *shouts and flails* It is, of course, a story by an American author, rather recent, and not an older story that would be easy to find on the internet. Because it's a copyrighted work, it is only available through her book, which is OOP, and so this presents two problems. 1) Most likely, no one has read this story before so no one will know the source material. 2) The only way to find the source material is to buy it off eBay or whatnot. I'm so frustrated! It's such an awesome story, and I won't be doing it justice if I don't read the source material again before I write it. *is exasperated*

1) Expedite the source material, but I won't get it until Tuesday, and that is the last day of the challenge, and I already have a pretty full day.

2) Just wing it, using other stories to fill in.

3) Choose a new story.

1 & 2 still have one problem; namely, no one will recognize the story, and even if someone decides they want to read the story, it is almost impossible to get.

3 means starting from scratch, and drives me crazy, because the story idea is so great that I don't want to discard it.
