Crazy Lady Part Two
Oct. 9th, 2005 06:55 pmShe came back.
The Horrible Craft Item was too large to transport, so she brought only bits and pieces of it.
They were exactly as awful as I imagined them to be. Her workmanship is truly horrid.
Then she told me that she didn't like the "negative feedback" she received from other people in her group. I thought, wow, has someone been honest with her? But it turns out that "negative feedback" means people saying "You have a lot of time on your hands", which is actually a pleasant Midwestern thing to say. If someone had really been honest her head probably would have exploded.
At one point she said, oh well, it doesn't matter, I'll just get third place again. The officers of the group always win first and second place.
I asked if they did that exact competition each year.
"Oh, no, they do different things---I've been out of work. If I had a job I'd buy so many things."
She spent $6, but I almost consider it worth it. The show was so incredibly boring that it was kind of a fun interlude.
