Another bizarre dream
Jan. 15th, 2006 03:18 pmI was playing a pinball game (I actually am a bit of a pinball fanatic in RL) called Thor Is Bored. The Marvel incarnation, to be specific. On the backboard Thor was pictured looking very bored indeed, slumped over a table, leaning his head on his hand glumly.
I started the game up, and pressing the button did an automatic launch, with no plunger, and I was a little disconcerted that the opening foray wasn't even a skill shot, but merely a set of random pachinko maneuvers. Finally I get the ball in play, and I realize that the person who owns the game has set the flippers as far apart as possible and set the drains to their maximum width as well, which makes gameplay shorter. In fact, the flippers were so far apart that there was no way that I could keep a game up for very long.
Thor was watching me very glumly. He became a little interested towards the end and sat up a little straighter, but then, when I lost the third ball, he slammed his tankard of ale down on the table and went back to his defeated slump.
