HAPPY BIRTHDAY [livejournal.com profile] aubrem!!

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite LJ people! I'm so happy to have met you, both online and at Lumos...that was a real treat! You're interesting and funny and you are simply the best fic cheerleader ever! (You're also one of the few people who endured the Muppet Babies Torture firsthand, poor dear!) I adore you, and I'm so glad that you're here in fandom. People like you are the backbone of a fandom...people who read, review, have opinions, and encourage discussion. You're a treasure! *hugs* I hope your day is great!

I dreamt last night that I was walking around a cemetery with my camera. I came upon the most exquisite little chapel. It was shaped like half of a boat, very graceful, with the stern pointing toward the heavens, and the back wall was entirely made of stained glass. It was about thirty feet high.

[livejournal.com profile] logospilgrim and [livejournal.com profile] mingbutterfly were at the other side of the chapel, and I waved at them. They waved back, and then proceeded to examine the chapel, to which Logos immediately felt a connection. She was wearing her black robes, but also had attached tissue thin wings made out of plastic bubble wrap to the back.

They were conferring, and then Logos noticed two black pegs on either side of the chapel, and decided that she was going to attach her wings to these pegs and hang between them, and Ming could take a picture. It really would have been a lovely picture, too, because of all the stained glass and such. Ming said she didn't have a camera, but then seemed to remember that I had one and called me over.

Being an engineer's daughter, of course, I pointed out that her wings were too thin, and that they would never support her, and that she would fall and hurt herself because the pegs were nearly twenty feet off the ground. Logos seemed very sad, as did Ming, but I just couldn't bring out the camera and risk her falling.

LJ dreams always interest me. I've met both of them, so I know what they look like; what's funny is when I have a dream about someone on LJ and I don't know what they look like in RL. I dreamt about [livejournal.com profile] iibnf once, I think, and I have no clue what her appearance is like.

Went as well as expected. She is now getting caught in loops, whereupon she tells us something, and then tells it to us again, and then tells it to us again.

For example: My father took it upon himself to redo the basement. He painted, put in fresh ceiling tiles, and had it carpeted. She was present for the carpet guy, who had her sign the quote, and who explained everything to her (he's actually related by marriage to her). This was a few weeks ago.

When my sister and I came over today, she told us that they weren't supposed to carpet the steps, that she couldn't vacuum the steps, she would lose her balance, she couldn't hold the vacuum cleaner, and she much preferred the linoleum she had before, she could brush it with a brush very quickly. That brought her back to how she hadn't wanted them to cover the steps, which led to all the reasoning behind it, which led back to how they weren't supposed to cover the steps, and back through all the reasons again, all in one long, uninterrupted loop. whew.

I won't go into the revisionist history she's been developing, or the lovely state of denial she's painted herself into.

Other than that, this has been a lovely weekend, for one reason: I'm writing! That makes everything better, you know? I'm already 1300 words into the next chapter, too. I am a little confused about Fiction Alley, though. I sent in the email as instructed in order to be part of their special "we don't need no stinking corrections" queue, and received a reply that seemed to confirm that I was in said queue, but some of my chapters are not getting into the nightly build, and seem to take as long as they did before. Weird.

Thought I was doing well on SH, I put up a one-shot story and had three reviews very quickly, which motivated me to put up more, but the review well seems to have dried up now.

Ah, well. You never know!

Wow!

I don't know what's in the water, but since I've returned from vacation, I've sold 24 items out of my eBay store. Yeah, in six days.

I'm starting to wonder if it's the snow, or that I made Power Seller. Or both.

*jumps for joy*
