I'm back! I'm home! It's unbelievable. There is a husband here and a house, and even a pond. And a piano! It's like a new set of discoveries every time.
The trip was stressful and quite action-packed. Last night's drive home was a doozy--took me almost nine hours (it usually takes about six and a half). There was rain and thunder and lightning for nearly the entire trip, and some rest areas were without power, as well as many restaurants and such.
At the WI rest area I had this memorable exchange:
Woman (blond, in her late thirties, staring at me as I enter the bathroom): Wow, you have really long hair.
Me: Yep.
Woman: How long did it take to grow it that long?
Me: A long time.
Woman: Why is that?
Me: That's just the way it is.
Woman: That's not fair! I want long hair now!
Not: The woman was not being cutesy. She was actually offended that it takes that long to grow long hair. lol.
Anyway, I missed you all!! And I'm so glad to be home! squee!!!
