I know this makes me an awful person, but I never send out holiday cards. I never request them either. I'm just not that into the winter holidays, honestly. Too many years of retail. So sorry!
You're not alone. I send out cards to friends and to a few f-listers who do a request (I make a special end-of-year newsletter to go with it, which I enjoy more than the card, I think) but I don't request them. I always think, I'd have to explain to my family who all these people are.
I always feel a little icky during this time of year, because I feel like a scrooge, not sharing joy with the rest of the world. But I'm just not into the holiday enough. For me, it's just a family occasion. ;)
My mother is so anti-Christmas. She says she's downsized it completely in our house. No decorations, only a tiny tree (and only then because I insist). She & I give gifts to each other, but for the rest of the family we each pick a charity and give whatever we would have spent, and they do the same for us. The whole focus ends up being getting together for the meal, and that's pretty good. It's the no-stress Christmas.
You know, you're a regular scrooge, you are! I bet even the Giant Squid has a tree! Ok, so it's coral and is strung with electric eels but it's more holiday spirit than you bother to muster!
More demonic than flying monkeys after a high colonic...
More dastardly than your waitperson bringing a scrumptious dish and dissapearing into thin air right after you realize you don't have any silverware....
Perhaps even More Evil than the image of Ahmad Dijalili in a speedo.
That is the evil that is YOU.
(ok....I don't send cards either. Usually not even for birthdays)
