For some reason I'm having gloomy thoughts involving fandom popularity. Damn you, low self-esteem.

And while I was shopping with my sister at Lane Bryant I somehow received fifty-seven spam emails to my google account. Normally I receive two to eight a day, but this was in four hours. WTF?

Can't help with the popularity, alas (says She of the Romance-Repelling Literary Allusions *grim smile*).

*pets you and offers a mug of hot cocoa instead*

And yeah, the spammage seems way out of control today. I think I've emptied a couple hundred messages from my various accounts in the past twelve hours...

Good luck with finishing your Snupin Santa! I've spent the past five minutes trying to figure out what Snape says next... *headdesk*

Ooh, hot cocoa! Thank you so much! *admires cute frog mug*

I really don't think I've received this much spam in such a short period of time...ever. Bizarre! I wonder if that Spamaggedon thing is happening. Apparently some sort of entity that blocks spam was going to fail, and we were all going to receive so much spam that our computers would cry in terror.

That Snupin story is going to be so much fun to write, I can just tell, but I'm so behind on it! If I can just get through the research materials tomorrow, I think I can get in a good start.

Even better, I have Monday off! *crosses fingers*

Awwwwwww!! I love you too, sweetie. You rock!

I'm hoping to see you again when I do that huge trip around the States next Spring. And also at Phoenix Rising! You really are an awesome person, and it was so great to hang out with you.

Yay Lane Bryant! I love their bras. I think I need to get some new ones...

SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAMMITY SPAM!!! That happens to me too, sometimes. It's very strange!

I also love you, in fandom or out.

It was really weird to have that spamplosion. I don't know what happened.

I love you too! hee! I wasn't really mentioning it so that I could get me some lurves, but they are nice to receive all the same! *hugs*

My Mailwasher program says I delete 700-800 spam emails a week from my main account and I just deleted all spam from my google mail account on Thursday and already have 350 more in there. And I hardly ever use that account, so I don't know how these people are getting that addy.
Spam sucks.

Wow! I really am lucky, and have always been lucky. I have cycles where I only get one or two spam messages every three weeks.

My comcast account was INSANe, though. The first time I logged in, there were over a thousand messages there. They'd built up over time...ha! And I would still receive twenty or thirty each day. They've trickled down to nothing, thank goodness.

All I can say is that you're popular with me, dear. And also that I completely believe the truth of Isis' famous observation, that "One person's BNF is another person's WTF."

Aw, you're so sweet! Thanks! And Isis is completely right. I just have weird moments every so often where I think, I'm pretty useless online. And then the next day I'm fine. It's just one of my more irritating neuroses. ;)

Hey, try being neither a writer nor an artist nor particularly a metatician for feelings of uselessness. : )

Anyway, you're very popular with me. : )

Aw, I think you're fabulous! And you're definitely the fandom center for a lot of people. *lurves* You inspire creativity and bring people together!

And thanks, I feel silly now about having said anything, because, honestly, I feel that way only 1% of the time. The rest of the time I'm pretty happy about the entire experience.

You are a wonderful contribution to fandom. Here are the facts:

You are my very first LJ friend. I friended you because of your great Beginner's Guide to Fanfiction. I stayed because of you!

Who else would be able to be Valismort? No one!

Who gave the fandom these wonderful lions and brought the plush squid to Lumos? You!

And who makes me feel like I matter, because she comments on my posts? You again, among other friends. :-)

You matter, darling. You really do.

*hugs*

Aw, you're so very sweet! And now I feel really silly for saying anything at all, honestly, because after a night's sleep, I'm back to my usual silly self.

You really are a wonderful person. Thank you for being so sweet to me, I really appreciate it tremendously!

Well, now. The reason for your low self-esteem is obviously due to the fact that you CANT PLEEZE YOUR GRRL IN BED and that you DONT CUM LIKE A SUPERSTAR because you LACK BIG GUNZ, CHEEP CANADIAN MEDS and QUALITY WATCH REPLICAS.

The spammers are only trying to help, dear, see? ;-)

And *hugs* Screw the fandom. Your friendom loves you.

I have been feeling gloomy and suspect the impending winter is at least partly to blame, and you have the same dreary, upper Midwestern weather. Regarding fandom popularity, I don't know anything about HP fandom (except that I think Rowling would have a stroke if she read some of the fic), but you and your LJ are very popular with me. :-)

Yeah, I'm not excited about the cold, except for wearing lovely scarves, which I do enjoy very much. Plus, I've bought some new sweaters. Other than that, though, I'm not really much into snow and winter in general. I much prefer spring and fall.

Aw, and thanks for the sweet words! I'm feeling rather silly about bringing it up at all, honestly. ;)
