My journal is called "Island of the Lone Sane Thought" because most of what I say is neurotic, paranoid, or in some way skewed. I think if you look hard at all of the entries you may find one thought that you would classify in your own way as sane.

My subtitle is "Bornino" because...well, this would be way too complicated to explain, so I won't bother, because it's not very interesting either. Maybe I should change it.

My friends page is called "Friends" because I just assumed that I'm the only one who goes there.

My username is "valis2" because valis was already taken. Valis is either the name for a popular video game/manga she-warrior of the nineties, or the name of the protagonist of Philip K Dick's vast artificial life intelligence system. Take your pick.

My default userpic is a lovely lion face from a monument to firefighters. Underneath each of the four lion's face is written a single word; it spells out "Gone but not Forgotten" and is quite stirring. I love lions in sculpture/art because of a trip to Venice. Soon enough I'll have my scanner, and I'll try to get a few new icons going.

I was quite taken with "Island of the Lone Sane Thought", partially as LJ is never an island, so it's sort of a play on words, and also because I totally understand the feeling that I only get one truly sane thought a day and it's often a good idea to find and pay attention to it.

I like valis because it's pretty to write (I love writing s in cursive and it has that definitive sharp v at the front).

So which was it for you? AI or video games? Did you just think it sounded cool?

Coupled with the lion in your icon, I always misread it in my head as 'valor' or 'valorous'. Knights and bravery and a quest. :)

I liked the valis games a lot, because it was really nice to see a strong female character. She had more games than Mario at one point. Many of the games were good quality games. Then later I saw the novel, and though I have never read it, I was taken with the idea, and I liked both concepts so much that I never changed my online name.

:) Wow, I feel all Lancelot-like now. Though the lion for me stands more for an unlockable mystery. I have a poem about Venice I should send you that will illuminate the lion concept a bit more.
