I'm about to start the next leg of the journey. (I'm just past the halfway point.) I have two days in Sacramento, and then I'll be off to OR and WA. California was okay, except for the difficulties with scheduling any new appts, and having other appts cancel; the best part was staying with my lovely friend [livejournal.com profile] blumsmile. We went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium and it was fabulous.

I also met up with [livejournal.com profile] rexluscus and [livejournal.com profile] gmonkey42, and that was great. I tried playing Guitar Hero for the first time due to gmonkey's infernal urging (we were at Fry's, some sort of electronics store), and I ended up attracting a homeless man, who would heckle me when I hit the wrong notes ("You missed the green one!"). He also kept turning up the volume so that everyone could hear the wonder of my playing. He was also a very appreciative audience, and was transfixed with "Message in a Bottle." Now I have two new witnesses to my ability as a weirdness magnet. Go me!

Will update again when I get to [livejournal.com profile] julian_black's.

It was great meeting up with you!

Did you see the octopus? I can't remember, are there any squid at the aquarium? I don't remember seeing any. Maybe they don't do well in captivity.

They have a giant octopus, but it was sleeping, wah! But there was a wee octopus who swam across the tank while I was watching, so that was totally worth it.

And cuttles! they had a couple cuttlefish. Hooray! (Plus their new otter exhibit rocks!!!)

I so loved talking with you, it was amazing! *hugs*
